fox news special about AAS link

stories

I'm very suprised to see some of the stories they have posted!!

Both sides....

Here is what I sent them, Let's see if they post it.

*************************************
It's no doubt that teens should NOT use steroids. It's very unfortunate that scare tactics are imposed on them instead of proper education. Furthermore what is more unfortunate than that is the fact that steroids have been so demonized and criminalized that the teens that have their minds set to use them regardless, are forced to resort to the black market for them.

On another note. Responsible, adult (over 30) males who would benefit from steroids for either diminished testosterone levels, or for physical enhancement, and are otherwise law abiding, tax paying citizens are made criminal for the mere possession of steroids. The epidemic is not in the use of steroids, but in the misunderstanding and closed minded view of them.

He's living proof that "just taking roids" will make you llok like a competetive bodybuilder. I would have never guessed he took roids. And they should have gave mom the option to pay several hundred dollars for a roid test - as if she'd do that.

So this is on FOX NEWS channel this Sun 9PM EST...I hope to see it.

SUP1 again good job in your activist role, you are to be commended my friend.

just watched it .the fellow that had to have his legs removed what an ass blames it on roids wtf he got and injection infection and didnt go to see a doc wtf did he expect and after having one leg removed he still didnt learn yep its plain to see its the roids .

and the kid on roids for 2 years .........its so silly I wont even say anything on it

they did have a small counter view but really pales to the cons the brought forth .it was what I expected from the media

man some douch bag stopped me at the softball feild the other day to ask how my show went. i didnt know him but he goes to church w/ a guy that did it too. he told me "so-and-so was gonna wind up killing himself beause of roids. every show he does he gets discouraged and just starts taking more and more."

i blew him off and told him that was the most assinign uneducated thing i had EVER heard.

this guy is pushing the limit sooo much weighing in a whopping 185 pounds at 5'10. on stage at 160-170, he is the epitimy of abuse and total disregard for health!

oh, and i know what he takes, 200mg primo and 50mg winny every 3 days, 1iu gh EOD. oh the danger!

I spent an hour on the phone with the FOX folks several months ago when they were researching this story. I agreed to participate, but ONLY with a guarantee that the piece would be fair and balanced -- not just another pandering, sensationalistic attack on usage by teens and cheating athletes. That's one context, but there's MORE to the steroid story, I explained. I detailed why demonizing the substances themselves, rather than in specific context, distorts the truth. We went through AAS in HRT and for HIV wasting therapies, for example, and discussed cosmetic use by mature adults. I drew comparisons to cosmetic surgery procedures, introduced issues of personal liberty, and sent them a copy of LEGAL MUSCLE. So, ... their slant was NOT out of ignorance. They were FULLY educated. Their biased report was quite intentional.

Needless to say, they would not make a guarantee to me, and I did NOT participate in the show. I know that upon seeing the promo's, Bill Llewellyn felt that they grossly misrepresented to him how the show would be angled. And, not surprisingly, most of what Dr. Nick Evans had to say wound up on the cutting room floor.

In my line of work, telling the "truth" means telling "the whole truth." Sadly, FOX chose not to do so.

Got this off IM thought you would like it

DAWN (drug awareness warning network), the CDC, and SAMHSA

Deaths in 2002

430,000 from tobacco
116,113 from alcohol, almost ¼ were drunk driving accidents, 32% of those were from binge drinking (been guilty of that one,, lol)
200,000 from prescription and over the counter drug interactions
0 steroid deaths, I looked everywhere and could not find 1 death attributed to steroids, but I could be wrong

emergency room visits from drug use stats for 2002

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) — 28,720 (Ranked 8th)
Alcohol— 207,395 (Ranked 1st)
Marijuana — 119,362 (Ranked 3rd)
Aspirin — 7,494 (25th)
Fluoxetine (Prozac) — 5,770 (29th)
Alprazolam (Xanax) — 27,659 (9th)
Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) — 5,430 (32nd)
Ibuprofen (Advil) — 15,867 (14th)
Oxycodone (OxyContin) — 14,996 (15th)
Naproxen (Aleve) — 4,576 (35th)
Caffeine — 1,999 (59th)
Amoxicillin — 830 (89th)
Codeine — 1,237 (73rd)
Hydrocodone — 2,420 (51st)
Morphine — 2,775 (48th)
Ephedrine — 1,033 (79th)
Prednisone — 348 (137th)
Multivitamin with Minerals — 376 (131st)
Herbal Products — 415 (126th)
Metformin — 505 (116th)
Cocaine — 199,198 (2nd)
Heroin — 93,519 (4th)
Androgens/Anabolic Steroids — 319 (142nd)

Okay this is what I thought was funny multivitamins and Caffeine ranked higher for causes of emergency room visits than did steroids. Also, most steroid related emergency room visits were attributed to infections of one sort or another.
Just some shit to think about when it comes to the BS our news and leaders feed us. .

That link ends up taking you to a "sign-up" page. I believe you need to do this prior to reading any articles. I went ahead and signed up as it didn't cost anything.

The page that talks about it "doesn't have hardly any info" on it. There's links to 3 videos that we are talking about/referencing to.

It was more of a teaser - to get a person to watch the show.

..

it s a modern day whitchhunt...

dont try to make sunse out of it or you will pull your hair out..

there is only one thing you need to look at.

more people go to the hospital because of a multi vit with minerals than for steroids yet steroids are illegal....
