I dont believe everything I hear or read. This stood out though, Frank Zane saying creatine isnt good for your body, it just makes you retain water and take atp instead,

Ive been taking creatine nonstop for just about sixteen years. I have taken months break here and there, but from what i know it isnt an issue. Anyone know the science?

does it effect creatinine/bun levels long term? or cause any other sides?

Who cares what Zane or anyone says about creatina? There is too much scientific evidence to turn to to clear up your doubts.
 
This is like when Ameen Alai came back recently and started saying some pretty out of touch stuff.

It's sad to see these guys fall so behind the times. I get that they're not dedicating their lives to it any more, but if you're going to make claims, make sure they're based on the latest knowledge, not what everyone thought 20 / 30 / 40 years ago.
 
Frank Zane was the size of the average physique competitor today. I'd take his knowledge with a grain of salt anyway.
 
Frank is from an older era when they didn't have close to the amount of knowledge at our disposal today. Creatine is actually very healthy, so I assume he isn't aware of later research.

That's so true. Creatine does have a ton of health benefits. It's been show in countless studies to me good to go. I had an old friend tried telling me CM causes some type of spinal issues, and I pretty much laughed. Some people say such stupid shit.
 
Ive been taking 5g creatine monohydrate every day for probably 20 years. No health issues.

Ive had bloods and onetime creatinine/bun was high, then I found out about being fully hydrated before labs, and I drank like a half a gallon or more before and creatinine/bun came back in range. Ive worked with a guy that creatinine/bun was high and I told him about drinking a lot of water before the test, and his came back within range.

Something Zane talks about is Adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) saying to take that instead of creatine. I did some research and found this

Adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) supplements are not orally bioavailable: a randomized, placebo-controlled cross-over trial in healthy humans.

Zane won the under 200
Mentzer won the over 200
And they gave the title to Zane
I doubt he has ever used creatine.
