FRUIT

good read. I actually like fruit esp postworkout, it really kills the fatigue.
 
Me too...thanks to Phil H, it is a main stable of my carb intake.

what do you notice having it as your main carb source opposed to oatmeal and stuff like that?

easier digestion and less stomach bloating for me , over all i feel alot better eating fruit.
my only trouble is over eating it , i have to prepair portions ahead of time because things like water mellon and pineapple i can eat untill im uncomfortable easly getting more than a days carbs in one sitting

Better health in general. Fruits and greens veggies have phytonutrients, and are rich in vitamins and minerals. They carb up the body through different vehicles than starches. Starches tend to be processed (higher GI) to some degree, are inflammatory (higher cholesterol), and are generally an inferior food source (cheap). Starches do have they're place in a bodybuilder's diet, mostly in pwo nutrition and pre comp carb ups.
 
What fruits do you guys eat mostly? I kill berries and bananas
 
I was hesitant to use fruit as a main source of carbs, but I'm making the switch. I eat berries, grapes, oranges and pears.

My main sources of carbs are fruits, sweet potato, and waxy maize on workout days.

If anybody could provide a list of which fruits have the best benefits, that would be helpful. I know melons are generally not the ideal choice, I'd likev to get a better idea.

I'm also still working on portion control, trying to max out on 250g of carbs daily can be difficult when you can't read a nutritional label.
 
I eat 2 servings a day minimum. It also satisfies my cravings for sweets.
 
SOOOO many misconceptions about FRUIT!

Fruit is one of my major carb sources, right next to oats and brown rice. Do not be fooled or scared by total sugar content, all fruits contain different ratios of glucose, fructose, and sucrose, as well as fiber.

Sometimes I even eat meat and fruit, like chicken breast and pineapple or banana. ;)
 
The majority of my carbs now come from fruits and veggies.
I feel very good eating this way, and I am constantly hungry without any bloat or stomach issues. It seems that every other carb out there makes me gassy and bloated, but not fruits/veggies.

The only thing that I don't like about it is that it is nearly impossibly to go out to eat with the wife or friends at a normal restaurant.
 
Love fruit! It makes packing my food for the day so easy.
 
Ive been thinking of doing this for a while,fruit as only carb source( and veg of course) and this thread has git me motivated to do it starting tommorow.
 
I love fruit, I've been incorporating more fruit in my daily diet more and more-and feel better by doing so.
