Well, its been almost a decade since I last was active on this forum. I wasn't even sure it still existed. I won't bore you with my life story, but I used to be pretty active hear, and competed about 10 yrs ago. Ive stayed very active and fit in that time.

I broke my L5 last year, and had a fusion in December. Since the surgery i went from 6'2 240 to 263 basically over night. Im back in the gym. Doing cardio, some weights, and occ-therapy. Im 42 now, and Im shocked how the weights not coming off.

I was incredibly disaplinled about my diet for the longest time. Ive really lost that now.

My plan is to carb cycle, and continue to ramp up exercise as I can. But I need to loose this weight. To be clear, I want to focus on loosing weight, not loosing fat. And I want to do it fast. I feel terrible this big.

What is out there now in weight loss supplements /drugs? Back in the day, I used to run an ECA stack with good success . And used clen a few times. I don't think I would try clen again, I think its just too hard on your heart. But, Im looking for some advice. I used to just lower carbs a bit, and Id be lighter the next day. Not anymore.
 
Diet, maybe some carnitine and GH.
 
Tirzapatide would be your best option in my opinion. I know at least one sponsor carries it. Its a little pricey but I am taking it and lost (oddly enough) 25lbs in three weeks. I am in a similar situation where I am injured and can't lift and just want to down size. Plus I went through a couple months of heavy Oreo cookie usage. Take the following dose once a week
2.5mg for 4 weeks
5mgs for 4 weeks
7.5 for 4 weeks
10mg for 4 weeks

Then see how your body responds weather you need to continue going up 2.5 mgs every 4 weeks or can still lose weight on 10 or even 7.5 mgs. Or of course just come off. Don't go above 15mgs.

Pretty much nothing really beats a disciplined diet. Every thing else is just a Band-Aid on the problem. When the disciploine slips just get back to it.

Welcome back! Sorry to hear about the back issue. When was the surgery? Make sure to give your body time to heal before you do any type of drastic weight loss. Since you competed, it shouldn't be that hard to loose the weight. It may take a little longer now. What I put in bold above, I'm assuming you meant to say, "I want to focus on losing weight, not losing MUSCLE."

Again, give yourself some time for your body to heal and the area to fuse, then if you're really stuck, think about adding some GH.
 
Man, L-carnitine does work..I have an extremely high level of cardio but while I’m on it it’s noticeably higher..definitely gives me a higher work capacity.

I typically gain weight after surgery..it’s a green light to me to eat Mexican food 5x a day

Don’t think too much start with what worked before and it likely will again and if it needs tweaking after a few months adjust then
 
Get your test levels up and add in a tad of primo. Then what is good for metabolic optimization is cardarine and berberine. With a decent diet high-ish in protein you can make progress. I prefer the metabolic optimizers rather than the stims. Better for you all the way around.
 
I'll add with the tirzapatide and even the semaglutide you'll reach a point that your hunger is successfully curbed. So you might not want to go up as you won't want to eat the calories you need. Like I don't see you taking 10mg of Tirzapatide and being able to consume even 3000 calories of clean food. It really depends on the person though so its possible to stay on lower doses longer if you feel going up (or when you go up) will just not make you hungry enough. Stuff really dries you out as well. I can get the semaglutide dosing schedule if you decide to go that route as its a lot lower dosing. The Tirzapatide hits two glp receptors and the semaglutide only hits one but they both seem to work pretty good. Personally I would like to see how some guys would do on it up to a show as it really would diminish hunger pains to nothing on the right dose.

Yea you can get them from a weight loss Dr locally or they have some clinics online but they can be upwards of a 1000/month regardless of dose for both Tirzapatide and semaglutide. A buddy of mine got his insurance to cover part of it but it can still be found cheaper in the sponsor section. I don't know the rules regarding sharing specific sponsor information so I can only refer you to there. I will give a solid review of the product in that sponsors thread real quick. Hope it helps

Based on what you wrote I would highly recommend two things:
1 drop idea of those weight loss drugs - not needed - yohimbine and clen are more then enough
2 go keto - for a few reasons:
a) completely eliminate cravings ( your weakness)
b) is fast
c) works amazingly well if you stick to it
d) very tasty so it is easy to follow the diet
 
250-300mg test, maybe a dash of primo 200mg (don’t have to worry with E2 elevations from test)

A dash of semaglutide .25mg 2 weeks, .5mg for as long as it kills hunger…..

250mg DNP 14 days. Lift EOD, low volume, upper lower, DC split, or Scott stevensons fortitude training tier 1.

Diet….chicken, veggies, fish oil on off days.

Workout days….sprinkle in A FEW carbs in the day prior to the lift, like 25-30g for a couple meals, so you don’t feel like death. Off days….12,000 steps.

The weight will fucking drastically fall off. Day 18 have 300-350g carbs. Day 19 see what your weight and the mirror looks like.
