Gaining weight on a calorie deficit

I injured my shoulder a few months back and used it as an excuse to take a break completely from the gym. Well 3.5 months later I've lost a bunch of size and got fat as fuck. Currently sitting at 17% bf.
Anyways, I decided to go ahead and get back at it but starting a cut to get to 11 or 12 percent bf and then start gaining again.
The problem I'm having though is I've gained 5lbs in a week since starting this diet....

This is what I'm eating daily

7am Meal#1 (38/70/13/5gf)
3 eggs (2 white 1 whole)
1 cup oats w/ splenda & 20 Craisins
24g whey with 8oz almond milk
2 fish oil / multi / 2.5g carnitine / Thermo/ kre alkalin

8:00am Workout
7g bcaa pre cardio
9:00am Cardio

9:30am Meal #2 (57/52/4/1gf)
6oz chicken
1 cup rice w gravy
Asparagus
Kre alkalin

1:00pm Meal #3 (43/2/13/5f)
6oz chicken Lettuce wrap
1/2 avacodo

4:00pm Meal 4 (43/8/3/2gf)
6oz chicken
1 cup broccoli

7:00pm Meal 5 (58/20/7/2gf)
8oz 99% lean Ground turkey stuffed peppers

9:30pm Meal 6 (40/12/6)
1 Okio Greek yogurt
12g casein
12g whey
1 cup almond milk
2 fish oil

2,185 calories
279g protein
166 g carbs
45g fat

I'm 40 years old, 5'9"
I started the diet at 216lbs morning weight. I'm up to 221lbs morning weight now.

Any ideas as to why I'm putting on weight? I have came off layoff periods before and started at 4,000 calories and barely increased weight this fast. Lol
 
Glycogen & Sodium
I guess I'm lost.... sodium is relatively high im sure but at only 166g carbs I should be depleted of glycogen. Am I missing something? I've followed almost this exact same diet before and lost almost 10 lbs the first 2 weeks and then 1.5lbs every week after.
 
way too many variables happening in this situation to determine what the culprit is.

change nothing, stay the course for another 2 weeks, and see where things settle

also, how confident are you in your ability to accurately track your intake?
 
Get some calipers and take a simple 3 point measurement. Track this week to week.

It's one week, lol.
 
How’s the look in the mirror changing?
I look the same, except for flat and deflated. It's only been a week. I woke up this morning at still 221lbs, so I didn't go up in weight today. Hopefully the scale starts tipping the other way

Very confident. I'm using a macro app and cross referencing it with Google and weighing everything.

Yea that's me in the Pic, but 13 years ago. I'm following the exact diet now that I did then.
 
Its scientifically/physically impossible to increase body weight ie gain actual tissue while in a true deficit.

Your muscles are depleted and you are in a deficit so it wouldn't be added glycogen.

It could be bloating from sodium. But it could also be stress.

Did anything at all change in your life recently? Sleep patterns? Job? Relationships? Money? New medicines from the doctor? Sick?

Muscle weighs a lot, more than fat, so If you’re adding muscle that you lost back onto your frame is only makes sense that the scale would go up. Like others said give it another week or two and see where things settle.

Yea I know it's low, I have 10 weeks before our Mexico cruise and my goal is 10% bodyfat by march 8th. I know I'll lose some muscle but I also know I'll gain it right back.
Normally I'd start 16 weeks out and start at 2,600 calories.

Good points, I am just getting over Strep Throat. Been on anti biotics for a week now.

This is everything I'm currently taking

500mg test C week
2iu hgh AM
500mcg BPC 157 daily
5Mg TB500 weekly
1000iu hcg eod
25mg ephedrine daily
90mg caffeine daily
90mg aspirin daily
4g. Fish oil daily
1g vit C
Opti Men vit/min
5,000iu Vit D
50mg Cialis twice a week


HCG I started about 3 weeks ago. I'm doing 1000 iu eod for 20 days and then 1500iu weekly to try to bring the boys back from years of atrophy.
 
Let's us know if your up another 5 by next week.

Heck that probably still would be possible

Yeah fat loss happens in strange wat, I’ve been tracking my weight a select few days of the week instead everyday for general trend. If you look leaner and clothes are fitting differently but weight is same, just give it another week and the scale should reflect.

No sorry brother, it's 500mg Testosterone Cypionate.

Vitamin C only once.

As far as the HCG, I have severe testicular atrophy from years of being on straight. When I say severe, I'm talking Almond size...
I noticed my sex drive was going down too. My ejaculate volume was thick and had no pressure.
I'm gonna attempt to get them to normal size and maintain them with hcg. Goal is to eventually only have to take 500iu weekly.

And yea, I've always taken 50mg. I buy the raws and just scoop up about 3/4 cap in a #4 capsule
