GALL BLADDER REMOVED

I had my Gall Bladder removed on the 21st, I am feeling much better- soreness is gone at incision/scope sites, 4 in all. Belly Button area is the most sensitive. I am still very swollen...anyone know how long this swelling lasts approximately?

My wife had this done in Oct, by the way she was and still is pregnant. She about 5 months or so she is due in march, anyway she was sore for about 2 and a half weeks some was because of the baby to.

I will probably have to get this done soon. If I do, will 1 week be long enough recovery time for me to be able to walk to and attend classes? Also, did they prescribe painkillers to you guys for this? Thanks.

For pain, I was given several different pain killers..mainly Lortab. I havent gotten the shits that they said they would, but it has only been 2 weeks. GOing to do some cardio in the morning. Hope all had a good NYE.

Lortabs is codeine (hydrocodone I believe). It won't give you the shits, quite the opposite. You will probably be constipated and when you do go, it will not be fun for you. They gave me Lortabs when I had my tonsils out. Stuff knocked me out. I won't ever take them again.

What were your symtoms you were having to have to get your gall bladder removed?

Yeah. I'm curious as to what your symptoms were as well, Tom. My main symptom is sharp pain in the upper right quadrant of my abdomen whenever I exert my self to the point of breathing hard. Squats, sprints, etc..

I thought it was a hiatal hernea initially, but apparently not the case. They found a stone.

Symtoms were harsh..pain in diaphram area..pain radiated under my shoulders..would last for hours some times! Had some "leakage" at times..but the telltale signs are the pain in the upper chest, can feel it under your shoulder blades..especailly after after eating something fatty. It was no doubt one of the worst pains I have ever had..I have been stabbed and shot..this ranks up there with those!
