Gave CPR and saved a life

I was a lifeguard captain on a beach for 25 summers...we rescued over 1000 swimmers in those 25 years... unfortunately we had 3 that drowned...I did cpr on all 3... None survived...I will never forget the last one...a crippled 17 year old drowned in about 7 feet of water...one of his family members took him out and let him go...it took me about 10 minutes of surface diving to find him...when I got him to shore another lifeguard did compressions while I did mouth to mouth...the victim regurgitated the contents of his lungs and stomach....to this day I can still taste that hotdog with onions...this was almost 30 years ago...the worst part was all of his family were watching and screaming and crying as we're a couple hundred other beach goers....

Ol boy done threw up in your mouth? F’n A!!! That’s sooooo gnarly! I know during CPR training they say if you over blow into their mouth you can force air into their stomachs. Which in turn turns into vomit when they pop back to life.

Isn’t mouth to mouth not necessary nowadays? Just chest compressions are needed?

On a lighter note and not to make light of that person's death and your selfless efforts to keep them alive; I don't eat hot dogs and I never eat onions. The smell of onions are bad (IMO) but not that bad but they cause really bad breath so I don't do onions and thankfully neither does my wife. For me bad breath has to be the number one turnoff so I've always had an aversion to them. But back to hot dogs...they smell not so great but hot dog burps are really repulsive. The thought of tasting regurgitated hot dog with onions is seriously legendary levels of gross but I guess when you're saving someone's life you're probably not thinking about that too much. This might be one of the grossest stories I've ever read on here but God bless for trying to save that person.
