What is the feeling regarding taking GDA supps (either being straight r-ala or a formulated product such as Partition MD, GlycoLog, SlinMax, etc.) along with insulin to help prevent a decrease in insulin sensitivity coming from exogenous insulin administration and/or increase the effectiveness of the insulin dose?
I am currently taking insulin pre-workout (protocol below) and figured the GDA would only help but I would like to get opinions from others on the matter as I am not an expert on insulin usage.
Current Protocol
- 30min Pre-WO: ModGRF/GHRP-2
Take GDA - I'm currently using 200mg r-ALA, Chromium, and Vanadium.
- 15min Pre-WO: 4-8iu NovoLog subq (still dialing in dosage)
Inject Synthetine (injectable carnitine)
- 10min Pre-WO: Start drinking Intra-Workout shake. Drink 1/2 of the shake by the time the first exercise is completed (40g carbs)
- Sip on the 2nd half of the shake throughout the workout and finish at end of workout (another 40g carbs).
- Post-WO: eat a solid meal made up of carbs and lean protein.
Intra-WO Shake: consists of 80g HBCD, PeptoPro, and other typical ingredients.
So far I have not gone hypo and workouts have been good. I have only gone up to 4iu NovoLog so far. I am planning on doing 5iu tonight.
Note that I'm in contest prep and getting most of my carbs around my workout.
