Gear and tanning beds...
What is the deal? I have heard that they dont mix, is it true and if it is, why not?

Never heard of that. Every bodybuillder I know uses tanning beds year round.

A pal of mine said...
She is on steroids for lupis. she said that there is a sign at the tanning booth that says that if you are on steroids not to go into the bed, also some other meds she said.

I just called my finace who works at a tanning studio and asked her. She read me the list of medications that are deemed 'undesirable' for sunbed use. Mainly it was anti-depressants and anti-psychotics but no mention of anabolic steroids what so ever. I use them all the time and havent had any problems that I know of.

From previous experience if you are taking anything transdermaly using dmso dont put it on then go to the tan bed! moo, moo,

By steroids, do you mean ANABOLIC steroids, or cortical steroids?
Plus dont tan while on antibiotic Tetracycline.

you can tan while on tetracycline if you already have a decient base. I've tanned while on tetracycline, doxycylcine, and minocycline with no problems.

Wow, what a can O worms!!
I am curious as to what it does no matter what you are on? I mean, unless certain drugs make you sensative to the light or radiation or what?

Even if you decide to tan,(taking whatever) what is it gonna do? Kill ya? Burn easy? Piss myself? Peel like an onion? Nuetralize the drugs? Just wandering.

anti-depressants and diuretics cause you to burn quicker. Much quicker. I've had my ass stuck in the beds on both these drugs. No biggy. Just monitor yourself in the bed so you don't burn.

Bringing this one back from the dead!

I just started tanning and I was told within 5 min of the "effects" of steroid use while tanning. LOL, I told her what types of steroids? There was no difference in my program. Maybe she was just nosey and wanted to know if I was using.
