I encourage you to take a look at that.. see if you have any thoughts on it.
Trying to figure out how it would EXACTLY apply to bodybuilding. Aside from the training stress = adaption. possibly other things?

Maybe too many pencil necks stay victims to their beliefs (bad genes, cant get big). When maybe our beliefs make us who we are. We are what we eat, breathe, say, do and the people who we hang around.

Any thoughts?

Bro, not all people are created equal. There are the genetically elite who grow from looking at a dumbell. I know some guys including myself that have crappy genetics who bust their ass in the gym, eat right and get enough rest yet we know that we'll never look like ronnie or jay. I'm lucky to even have come this far to get to 220 pounds 11-12% bf(currently dieting btw) at 5'7. I know that if I had good genetics and continued my diet and training program the same way I do now, I would be much bigger and leaner.
 
It's not like everyone possesses every human gene and your body simply chooses to express what genes it does due to environment. Environment can't give you a gene. Like Lipton said, "perception controls genes". If the gene isn't there, no matter the perception, your body wont express it.
Example... Not everyone has the gene for blond hair. In fact, this gene is very rare and will be bred out of humanity soon. After that, no more blond and no matter what signal the environment is giving a person they will not have blond hair. They can dye it, but it wont be blond. Same goes for muscles. You can shoot all the GH and test you want, if the right Genes aren't there you wont look like Arnold.

I'll stick with Big A's belief. You can get the size, geneitcs decide what you look like when you have the muscle.

I didn't grow much for the first few years, being "on" too. Once I put everything together. BAM I went from 195lbs to 225lbs, that being since January of this year. And yes that about the same body fat %. But I've really suffered, and I wasn't worth a shit , while packing on the muscle. Hard to breathe, hard to walk. So, for me, if I'm not 100% doing what it takes, I don't gain anymore than anybody else. I just think it's harder than most people want to deal with.

You have a hard time breathing & walking?

Why?

Are your leg muscles so big relative to your bones & joints that they get in the way of each other when walking? (thigh muscles rubbing together)

Why the breathing difficulty?

I'm not attacking you, I'm just curious about your obstacles & problems in case I ever encounter them myself.
 
I'm pretty sure when I knuckle down and eat, supplement, etc., My body has a hard time adjusting to the weight gain over a short period of time. I will go three weeks maybe four, then I will give my body a break for a month and a half, maitaining, then start again.

And I meant I have trouble walking short distances, because I get short of breath. But yes my inner thighs are rubbing. Baby powder....

I know it's not healthy, it's extremely hard on me. I've just started my maitiaining phase again (two weeks ago) I'm lost 5-7 pounds of bloat, and feel normal again. But 7-9 pounds heavier, at same bf%.

I don't know if you watched the MD video of Kia Green last year when he made it over 300lbs. But he said the same thing. Trouble breathing etc.

If genetics can determine what you look like, why wouldn't they also determine your size?

That's a ridiculous contradiction.

Just as my genetics determined that I would never be Shaq's height, I also don't have the genetics to have Ronnie's musculature before he got on AAS.

you answered your own comment.. you can get YOUR size. Your genetics will dictate what YOU look like when you get it.. my argument is that they require less effort or that they were just born benching 400lbs. these cats worked hard to reach their potential and it took them years to do. we can all reach our own genetic limits with enough dedication

Where did you hear this? Blond hair 1st appeared as a rare trait, but exploded thereafter, to the point where some European countries like Sweden are now MOSTLY blond.. They speculate cuz males may have preferred a blond woman.. If these countries maintain their ethnic identity, and blond women continue to breed, how will it be bred out of humanity soon? That makes very little sense..

It's pseudoscience and factually incorrect.

For example, mutation isn't the only source of genetic variation. Other sources of genetic variation -- that mainstream geneticists recognise -- are:

-- Recombination
-- Gene flow

His central argument is fallacious. The closest analogy that comes to mind at the moment that illustrate his fallacy is a defendant in a murder trial shouting "It wasn't me that killed the victim it was the bullet!". Genetics recognises the influence of environment on gene expression and it also recognises epigenetic influences. During the process in which DNA is transcribed into RNA and the RNA is translated into regulatory proteins (enzymes) there is opportunuty for environmental influence at every step -- contrary to what Mr Lipton is arguing -- and genetics recognises this. That notwithstanding, if a genotype lacks a gene for a particular trait the environment is irrelevant with regard to the expression of that trait.

Mr Lipton doesn't seem to understand the difference between a necessary, sufficient and contributory cause. Genes are necessary for the appearance of the most fundamental phenotypic traits. In the absence of genes, environment alone is not sufficient to cause the appearance of a fundamental trait. My genes dictate the amount of melanin my melanocytes produce. If I were born and raised on the African continent I wouldn't become black any more than I would become alabaster white if I were born and raised in Scotland. Of course I would be darker and lighter respectively than I currently am because the UV exposure would play a contributory role to my melanocyte activity but this wouldn't be sufficient to make me black or pale white.

It has no relevance to bodybuilding because it's a load of bunk. Bunk generally has no relevance to anything outside of itself other than other bunk. Bunk feeds of itself.

Bodybuilders are defying their genotype by using AAS, peptides, DNP etc. These substances are products of the scientific method and engineering not of pseudoscience and mysticism. The perfect SARM won't come from the likes of Mr Lipton or David Icke or the author of "The Secret" it will come from the efforts of numerous biochemists, molecular biologists and pharmacologists. The end-product will come to you as a result of the efforts of numerous organic chemists, chemical engineers and manufacturing engineers. It is ironic that a hobby/profession that is so heavily dependent on science and engineering is replete with so much pseudoscience and mystical bullshit. The next time you jab that needle into your butt think about all of the scientists and engineers that made that activity possible.

Sorry but this has nothing to do with the central claim in the video.

If you are using AAS and/or peptides you have circumvented aspects of your genotype.

I think you are being overly literal here.

Traits such as androgen receptor density, DHT production and free testosterone level will determine how much lean body mass an individual carries (in the absence of load bearing exercise) and how easily (s)he gains lean body mass.

The extreme opposite illustrates the point well. Genetic defects in the androgen receptor can lead to partial or complete androgen insensitivity such that testosterone and DHT fail to produce virilisation even in the presence of normal testosterone production.

ROFL. Did I ever say he was a pro? No I didn't. Quit assuming things. Also, this forum is open to discussion but the way you get your points across is absolutely unnecessary. Your making it sound like anybody can get big which is BS.
