Just ran across this....very interesting. This dog has DOUBLE muscles.

Weren't cows being bread with this defect to produce more lean beef? I think I've even seen those cows on people's avatars.

And then there was this two or three year old with this defect, that received publicity about a year ago.

The commonality in all these cases is/was expected/evident decreased life span from carrying around all that muscle.

Everything in nature is a balance, a trade-off.

When I was growing up my family had a whippet as a family pet. Our dog looked nothing like the mutant in the newspaper article..my dog was ripped year round though and boy oh boy could he move!! his top speed was close to 35 miles an hour over just a few strides. They make great family pets, you just have to have a high fenced in yard and a place enclosed park or track for them to run from time to time.. They are just like us..you have to train ( run) them to keep them toned up and conditioned.. coupled with quality food.

The results of the clinical trial on the human myostatin inhibitor were not released, but the plans were canned and nothing else was stated except that the particular drug tested will not be released (meaning shit probably got fucked up -- like enlargement of cardiac muscle or something).

In the future, and maybe sooner rather than later, drugs will likely solve the obesity problem and allow people to modify their bodies regarding muscle mass and fat mass as they see fit without too much physical strain (as opposed to AAS + weight training).
