Get Winded easily when carb depleted

I'm not sure if everyone gets this but if it's common what's the scientific/biological reason of it? When ever I get carb depleted anything I do seems to require a lot more oxygen. I could be walking up a flight of stairs and start breathing noticeable heavy. Or if I do one quick heavy exertion to lift something or push something, the second I'm done with it ill be gasping for air.

Oh yeah. You are not alone brother. I think it has something to do with low circulating blood glucose and low liver glycogen stores... Not sure how that affects oxyegen demand/supply... But yeah, I get the same
 
Basically running on empty.
 
On low carbs I can maybe to 2-3 reps where I'd normally get 10-12, its just how it is
 
From doing some more searching and reading, it seems like the reason this happens is because fat is about 15%(on average) less efficient than carbs per liter of oxygen. So if you're carb depleted and your main source of energy is fat and fat is less efficient with oxygen, then more oxygen will be needed to do the same amount of work/force.
 
I also smell like Pure Ammonia when I'm carb depleted and working out.
