Getting shorter

I was 5'11-1/4" at 20 years old. I was 5'10" at 40. When I started working out at 45, I was back to 5'11" by 48 years old. Now at 57 I'm back down to 5'10-1/2"

It must have something to do with a combination of your posture and the natural degradation of your disks as you get older.

If you are on a heavy cycle, or have high blood pressure to begin with, those inversion contraptions will make your head feel like it's in the process of bursting...I do hangs at the end or workouts as well. Started as something for my forearms, now my back feels better as well. Could be just mental, but can't hurt.

Most often due to intervertebral disc dehydration. This occurs naturally with aging, but is influenced by usage patterns, genetics, etc etc

The above accompanied by the compression forces from years of lifting are going to cause this to happen.

My wife just told me the other day that I am no longer a legit 5'6, I refuse to believe her!

I have read many times that you're actually slightly taller in the morning than at night due to the compression of cartiladge between vertabrae over the course of the day. So I can see how some by theorize that super heavy squats/deads could potentially permanent compress it. Interesting. It would be nice to have a study on two identical twins and have one of them lift heavily for a period of a few years to see if there's any measurable difference in height.
