Giving blood while on cycle ??

I was wondering how many if any of you guys donate blood while your on cycle? , I'm type O- so the blood center hounds me and lets me know exactly when I can go donate. I donate as often as I can but this time is the first that has come up that I can donate when I was "on"

Is their any drawbacks of sombody getting my blood while I'm on cycle?

it depends, i wouldnt do because more than likely the center will decline your sample because of the usual sides that occurs when ones on a cycle high liver values....rbc count high and any other abnormal findings.

You have to fill out a form and that's something I wouldn't lie about.

Even if you've been off for sometime you have to be honest.

I have a higher than normal hematocrit and iron and take 2 days off from lifting to make sure all my enzymes are in check.
I asked a hematologist and endocronologist on blood levels of AAS in the transfer and they said it would be neglible.

If you mention you have taken any black market drugs they will disallow you.

I don't tell them of my past use, sorry if some people think that is unethical but it's not. When the technologist asked to see my wrists and forearms looking for needle marks it really floored me the first time they are worried about IV black market drugs and pituatary derived GH traveling outside the country and your sexual history and medical history for the most part.

You have to be 100% clean.

Even having a tattoo is a huge red flag for donating.
I know in Canada, they refuse you if you have tat's.

In the US, you are allowed certain meds, but they want to know what you are taking. If you have had a tat or piercing in the last 2 years you are not allowed to donate. Travel abroad is looked at too, especially in areas such as the UK that have had mad cow issues.

I diden't even think about the question form that is filled out.
I guess that they'll have to wait a few more weeks then , its amazing how much these people "hound" me cause I'm type O- , I've donated everytime I was able with their time restraints , can't imagine how many gallons of blood is out their of mine. I just hope that if I ever need it it'll be their for me as being O- thats all that your body can accept.

Your no more likely to get CJD here than in the US.

There are always drawbacks to giving someone blood whilst on any type of medication. Say the receiver was having a liver transplant, it would not do them a whole lot of good to get a unit of blood with compounds that require liver protection normally in it.

If you lie, and the tests show the blood is tainted you've just wasted everyones time and money.

I personally agree, but I was just stating what the people at the Red Cross told me. I just found it odd that they wanted to know if I had traveled to the UK in the last few years on the questionaire
