do you guys just give a normal donation? i see double red cell donation, is this a good or bad idea? never given b4, but i want to b4 i run a new cycle, crit was 54 2.5 months ago .................only been on androgel since

i am going to give double red next time. they put the plasma back in plus fluids so your hemocrit will drop a lot. i think either one is good but you can give less often with double red and get the same effect. my hemocrit was 54 last time also. just gave the other day.

I like doing double red because they take only the cells and pump the plasma back in your body. They actually like people to donate double red too. I was told it gets to the hospitals faster. I don't know why.

I think so, but I would check with them to confirm. They love me because I am O+. You do have to have a higher cell count than for a normal donation though. Not a problem in this crowd

im o+ also..................is it ok to get bloodwork the same day as donating? i was gonna donate , then have blood pulled for the full tests to see where im at b4 i cycle....................they will tell you your cell count at the donation center? shit, why get blood work then, im just interested in my rbc b4 i get on

I always ask and they tell me my cell exact count when they test me before the donation.

nice, all im doing is test e so all i care bout is rbc, one less thing i have to deal with at drs office.............ill sign up for double red see what happens, what do you tell them when they start asking questions? you just wana renew your cells?

They will only ask you to answer a private questionnaire. Takes 5 minutes. Personal questions about medications you may take, drug use, prostitution, international travel, any recent illness or fever, any tattoos or piercings in the past year, etc. They will be happy you are there doing your civic duty. And if you are O+ be prepared for them to call you when you are eligible to donate again since you are a universal donor.

Last time I did they said that the double red is what the ER has and the ambulance drivers carry. If someone has lost alot of blood they give them that and it helps keep the internal organs alive.

the questions just ask if you have used certain drugs like finesteride etc and if you have had tatoos, Hep c, used needles etc. the main concern is infectios diseases. they did ask if you have used drugs not prescribed by a doctor.....i just gave and it seemed like it was all about HIV, HCV etc.

well, i signed up for whole blood, you can do that every 60 days where with 2 red, its 4 months, i didnt want that long of a gap if i need to drop rbc after run

I'm O- and the Red cross lets me know a week ahead of the day I'm able to donate to setup an appointment. I donate every time i can but made sure that I have an account so that if i ever need blood i'll have it and their won't be any extra billing.

being O- i'm true universal donor but the only thing i can get it O- so its kinda fucked up if i ever need it and had heard about cases where people were charged more to have to get their blood.

Its cool , at least i get a free shirt now and then , i got a little plaque when i reached a gallon or two gallons or somthing

Being of Irish decent and also running some winny here and there my red blood count gets pretty high. It scares the crap out of the blood people. I do notice when it gets to high the headaches, joint pain and just not feeling good kicks in. I always give double when I donate.
