Glutamine to prevent hypoglycemia with Insulin use

Hey bros. I've read several articles that states Glutamine helps stable blood sugar levels. I've also seen it listed at one of the ingredient in mike arnold's pre work out humalog protocol.

Does anyone if it's really true? Will adding glutamine in my pre and intra work out shake drastically reduce my probability of going hypo while using insulin pre work out?

Also what dose would you guys recommend per shake? Thanks.
 
Any gluconeogenic amino acid will help prevent you going hypo.

Don't plan your nutrition around your insulin.

Plan your insulin around your nutrition, and you won't have this issue.

Thanks for the response. I've only used slin post work out in the past. This cycle I am gonna use it pre and was just thinking of adding glutamine as a precutionary step. Though I am still not certain if it'll actually help prevent hypoglycemia to a extent which it would make it worth adding.

Yes, glutamine is a great insurance policy and easily turns to glucose. It's basically like extra carbs. It won't save you from doing something stupid, miscalculating, or just having the wrong nutritional set-up in general.
 
Glutamines ability to promote glycogen storage and promote glucose synthesis independent of carbohydrates makes it a bodybuilders dream in terms of insulin control while dieting.

I take Glutamine peri workout when on Slin anyways. It has great benefits for recovery etc.

Thanks for sharing this, I was not aware of the benefit specifically related to Slin.

What's wrong with 10g carbs per iu? You can go lower but what's the point? Your using slin to grow so get them carbs in as well as protein and aminos. Train hard and they won't turn to fat but just replenish glycogen.
