I had to go on an antibiotics about two years ago and my GI system got jacked up in the process. While trying to get it back in line I discovered I was gluten intolerant. (I added food back in slowly, one at a time, and found every time I added gluten the shits would return) So I went gluten free cold turkey. I was utterly amazed at the changes.
LIFETIME of weekly migraines...GONE
SEVERE nighttime reflux...GONE
IRRITABLE bowel...GONE
ITCHY ass...GONE
Fungal infection on inner thighs that wouldn't go away despite treatment...GONE
For years I needed a doctor to clean my ears due to wax build up that was like tar...GONE
Basically I went carnivore with a small amount of vegetables and dairy... got in the best shape of my life. I kept losing weight so I added some dairy in.
I friend of mine that I shared the experience with told me that I would most likely find I'm also lactose intolerant.
I noticed that dairy (mostly milk)was giving me some GI issues so I cut the dairy.
LIFETIME of acne issues...GONE
BACNE...GONE
Clogged pores (blackheads) all over my body...90% GONE.
Also I got an infection recently and had to go on antibiotics... ZERO GI issues.
Finding out I was gluten intolerant and acting on it was a life changing event. Its weird because I tell people about this and if they have similar issues I'll tell them to try going GF, but most will say, "I'm not going to give up beer and pizza." Everything I listed had a pharmacologic or medical intervention at some point in my life but could have been solved by eating the right things.
I miss those things but the above list I do not.
