Gone back to basic upper lower split

Squats put a ton on pressure on the lower back. Ronnie Coleman blew out his discs and ended his career while performing squats.
Well your reply had absolutely nothing to do with my question and his answer. LOL

If you have joint problems you’ll most likely recover better training each muscle only once a week. I’d recommend the following 3-day spilt:

Monday Day 1) chest/back

Wednesday Day 2) shoulders/biceps/triceps

Friday Day 3) legs
I agree... I train on a every other day rotation.. each bodypart getting once a week attention. My joints can't take the pounding even with low volume / frequency.. my shoulders need a day off in between sessions. Been doing this for decades

I was actually doing this a few weeks ago and I like it but I just can’t recover.
I was only doing 1 working set 2 days on 1 day off.
I think if you can recover and it doesn’t aggravate your joints it’s a great way to train.
If you’re doing rest pause, I wouldn’t do it as a back off set id just do it as a rp set.
I'm doing Fortitude again. I last used it for about a year when it first came out. Right now I'm sticking to tier 1 basic and see absolutely no reason to go up a tier as long as I hit the sets hard. I take a day off between the full body workouts, days 1 & 2. I then take a day off and hit the MR days back to back, then another day off.

1 off, 2 off, 3 and 4 off. It's worked great.
