Just a little fun thread I was thinking of. I'm interested in seeing how much everyone spends on food every week. I was going though the grocery store the other day and thought about this. Last sunday I spent 120 bucks on 30 items. I don't wanna know what it'll be in the next few years when I start growing more.

Good thread. I really have to budget myself to keep up on my calories and protein. For the next few months I can only budget $200 a month for food (unless gas prices go up again, the bastards). I started buying protein powder on line which helps a lot. Now I watch the sales and buy in bulk whenever possible. Just bought 20lbs of boneless skinless chicken breast for 1.89/lb, 10 cartons of egg whites at 2/$4. (It's not morning without eggs.) I figure 70-80 grams of protein per dollar is about as cheap as it gets. Pasta, oats, and rice in bulk. Tuna at .89/can. Toss in a few fresh veggies every week and thats about the extent of my diet.

~$150 every two weeks. But this is going down, because I am just about to buy half of a cow and a freezer to stick it in!

700 a month for me, wife, and kid....that doesnt include protein powder/supplements......

It's hard to say, because you have to factor in soap, detergent, beer, wine, ky jelly, etc. I bet it's about $700-800/mo for 4 people. Not counting supps.
I am considering buying some protein in bulk from Superior, so that should keep me for awhile. Got a freezer full of meat, so lots of vegetable stew and chili this winter.

I have found that when I am in the off-season and eating the way I am suppose to, my food bill is generally never below $1,700.00 a week.:) Well, I no I spend an average of $120.00 every time I visit the store and that seems to average every 3 to 4 days.
