Ground Bison

My local store just got a shipment of ground bison in..first time they've had it...they have it marked at 6.29 per pound...is that a good price?
I'd like to try it.

it's about average, maybe on the cheaper side of avg. it's great stuff.

If it's quality bison that's a great price. Ground bison from US Wellness Meats is $12/lb. At local farmer's markets it's about $10/lb. $6 is cheap as hell if it's grass fed, etc.

I have to check it out...wife told me she was talking to the meat guy at the store and said this first shipment they marked at 6.29 to sell it quick and let people try it out....he also said it'll go to 8.89 after this runs out...I'm going to get a bunch in a little while.

bout average. i love the taste of bison over gb. i find it more anabolic

Not sure about these guys saying its average. You can't really even get it at Walmart for less than $8-9

Quick fact...when the American bison was hunted to near extinction, most of the few remaining animals were interbred with cows. The only animals remaining with 100 percent bison genes are the herds in Yellowstone, so technically when you are buying "buffalo" meat it is a fair percentage of regular cow genetics.

Yeah I just paid $9.29 for a pound tonight at the grocery store..I do like it for a change from reg ground beef once and a while.

...this article even talks about how the animals with the cattle genes are genetically smaller and less fit than a true bison.

...here's another one that says some of the meat u can buy in stores labelled beefalo, contains as little as 17 percent bison genetics. Sounds like a scam to me.

Ended up getting the last 14 pounds of the first shipment...meat guy said it flew out the door at that price. Said nothing about it being grass fed..probably isn't...i just wanted to try it after hearing that so many guys like it. Now I have enough for a while.

I mix mine with equal parts ground turkey 99%...its awesome

i love buffalo. 14 lbs wouldnt last me a week

Try browning the meat in a pan with a tiny bit of chopped onion. when finished add some spicy teriyaki sauce. Take that mix and put it over some whole wheat pasta. Simple, fast and delicious.

yeah pretty close over here it only comes in about 1lb packages and most are $8+
