Guys 35+ and stims

I am 38

I have a pot of coffee in the morning, regular drip. Around 200mg of caffeine. Morning cardio.

Training days is either a double shot of espresso prior to rolling/striking OR BPN pre workout at 300mg of caffeine prior to a performance session.

Not going to lie, even if pre workout is taken around 11am is still impacts my sleep.
 
I take 100mg caffeine, 1/2 bronchaid, and an 87mg aspirin every morning when I wake up. Im pretty sensitive to stims so never needed more. Ive been doing this everyday for 14 years. Im 41
after all the time, you never get burnt out or see a decline in the effectiveness?
 
They will pry my *stims from my cold, dead hands. Perhaps literally. :poop:🫤

I have a ton of high stim pre workouts that are just collecting dust. Wish I could still take them but just not worth the ups and downs and lack of sleep
 
I have High BP and on meds for it. Dr would love me to cut caffeine and he knows the answer is NO. With a 35 year old fiancé and working 10 hour shifts some days.. with travel time. I drink a French press every morning. The whole press so 3 mugs . Not much intake during day but a medium stim pre before gym sessions usually. I used to slam energy drinks all day as well and take ephedrine .. the real stuff back in the day.. and caffeine pills. No more. But if I skip coffee my body lets me know. I am addicted. I get a sharp migraine till I consume some
 
Outside of Clen during a prep I don’t use any stimulants now.

Androgens and training hard do enough damage to my CNS. I try to offset that by not touching stimulants.

As someone who used a lot of them in my 20’s and early 30’s I can say I feel so much better without them in every aspect.
 
I’m 35. I recently quit taking a pre workout a few months back and honestly feel better. I use to be big into stims back in the day, but now only have a cup or two of coffee in the morning, and 100-200mg modafinil 4x a week before work.
 
I sweat too much on stims. 1 cup maybe 2 of coffee in the morning. 1/3 or 1/2 serving of preworkout and sometimes (not leg days) a ON coffee flavored nicotine pouch on the way to the gym. That is it for me. Honestly if I didnt get cold sweats and super tachy (like 150 semi sustained) during leg days or soak my shirt I would probably use more. Then again I get a mild benefit which is probably more placebo than anything outside for the morning coffee.

That said I really like Troponin's ATP. High caffeine content but also some nootropics which I feel. Sometimes I'll cut a tab in half.
 
i take 10-12 25mg bronkaid tablets a day with a total of about a gram of caffeine. Usually split into 2-3 doses. I didn’t realize you could get addicted to bronkaid but it’s definitely a thing. I need to just start cutting the dose back to a reasonable level. I use to take Dmaa as well but oddly dmaa would make me fail drug tests at work where as ephedrine does not.

I'm 59 and the only stack I've been taking for pre-workouts since the early 90's is the Old Tried-tested and truth ECA. These days I'm only training three times a week and am up to 200 mgs caffeine, 40 mgs ephedrine and 81 mgs of aspirin. Still does the job, mind you I have to add a teaspoon of Maeng-Da Kratom prior to spice it up. Running out of ephedrine and when that happens, It ain't gonna be fun...
 
I drink 2 small coffees a day. Our coffees are half the size of an American coffee. I love drinking coffee, but has little effect as far as pepping me up.
My pre-workout is taking a 1 hour nap. Helps me more then any stimulate.

54 here, with hardcore ADHD. Coffee in the am ( I brew half decaffeinated, so it’s 1-1.5 cups in the am).

I have had a prescription for Adderal XR10 (I think that’s the lowest dosage available?) which I will take only if I have a meetings- heavy day. I’m in IT and Progrsm and Project management, if it matters. Sometimes focusing in leadership meetings can be very challenging if it’s run in a routine or boring way, so that helps a lot to pay attention and stay engaged.

Other than that, I did Clen at 40 mg with Yohimbine during my contest prep before doing my daily fasted cardio. Heart rate barely budged. My Reta gives me a slightly elevated RHR (high 60s) when I up the dose.
 
Yesterday I grabbed a coffee instead of energy drink...was the first time in a year I didn't drink 2 energy drinks that day. Not gonna lie I feel addicted to them...its like my cheat meal or a habit I don't think I need the caffeine they jist taste so good and I enjoy them driving to the gym or trails to get in cardio/weights. Trying to swap coffee as a replacement...the cold weather helps.

I used to drink a minimum of 5 redbulls or other energy drink every morning and a few more after lunch to get through the day. Once I went and had a sleep study done, I got my cpap. I do not have any caffeine. I will try low dose clen in the am to finish off my diet phase, but now that I'm not exhausted every day caffeine keeps me up all night.

I still love stimulants I just find I cannot use them much anymore. I may be only using slu-pp-332 and other mitochondrial enhancements to finish dieting.

Getting old sucks, I will be 45 this year. I used to be able to have virtually any stimulants and sleep whenever I wanted to
 
I’m 55. After got my Gail j bladder out in 2014 I couldn’t drink coffe anymore and i was a big coffe drinker. The last few weeks Iv been taking 2-3 12.5 mg ephedrine hcl before my 430 am after cardio. Other than that no stims. I took 4 of them this morning and loved the extra kick. My heart is strong and I’m very healthy. I don’t see a few ephedrine being an issue.
 
Im 42 brother and stay pretty rested most days after many years of not knowing i had sleep apnea. Getting a CPAP machine changed my life. There are still just those days tho and ive been liking modafinil or armodafinil lately. All that other crap like adderal just makes me shake and feel like im on speed. Caffeine works sometimes but it gives me cramps so damn bad. The moda and armoda just give me focus and energy with no crash. I get bloodwork done regularly and everything comes back ok. I do cardio daily and have a fairly decent diet. But the older i get i still always wonder, think its just a natural thing to worry bout the older we get
Do you have a preference between armodafinil and modafinil? I’ve been back and forth between the two and can’t decide. Curious if you noticed a difference

I have 1 or 2 cups of coffee in the morning to get me awake.

For health I try to have a cup of green and black tea as well, later in the day.

Doc says it’s maybe too much. 🤷 I’m not stopping.
 
43 and I keep it to just coffee. Usually around 250mgs a day...max 400mgs. I don't really get much of a fast heart rate, etc from it like I used to with pre workouts or energy drinks and find sticking to coffee only for caffeine works well.

A bodybuilder who works the Head Shop up the street kept on me to give up the Pre Workout’s and switch to THC(E)? I think it is… a workout gummy basically you young guys can explain it. The psychoactive stuff is removed and the Mind Muscle connection is there without the side’s of Caffeine or Cheech & Chongin’ it in the parking lot between sets. He likes Grits as his pre workout and adds this THCWhatever letter of the alphabet it is. E I think. $30 a pack.

I haven’t tried it yet. A preroll is $10 and my pre workout is a custom blend from New Dawn Nutrition in Omaha . Don’t know what’s in it I just tell them what “era” of pre workout I’m feeling like. Maybe a nice 2000-2001 early vintag hahaha custom made to order baby! 😉
