Read this before you ever get Gynecomastia Surgery

I think the best gynecomastia surgeon in the US, and possibly the world is Dr. Michael Bermant in Chester, VA. Please do not rush into this, do not look for a bargain, and do not stick with local surgeons.

I have not used Dr. Bermant, but i had a 3 hour consult with him after 2 disastrous gyno surgeries. The first doctor in New Jersey severed a nerve in my left inferior (lower) pec. Its severely atrophied now. Then i went to a doctor in NY to remove glandular tissue that was never removed from first surgery. He removed the glandular tissue, but sucked waaaay too much fat during the lipo suction - leaving skin adhesions and massive craters.

I saw Dr. Bermant after this mess. By this point there was nothing he could do to fix anything.

Plan on spending at least $7500. Get an MRI and/or mammograms before your surgery - as insurance in case your muscle is damaged you know exactly what it looked like before. If necessary, hire a professional photographer to take before photos and videos. My pre-surgery mammogram showed an intact muscle and was my solid proof of the damage.

Another absolute must - have the doctor show you VIDEOS of post surgery results with arms raising and lowering, and pecs flexing and relaxing. If the doctor cannot show you ANIMATED post surgery results, run like the dickens.

Gynecomastia.org is a great resource. The second doctor i saw in NY is a very famous surgeon and he still fucked up. And he's one of the sponsors on gynecomastia.org and everyone thinks he's great.

Mark my words, no other doctor approaches this process as scientifically, artistically and intelligently as Dr. Bermant. Drive or take a plane ride there - don't be cheap about this surgery. You do not want to know how much money i have spent trying to fix this.

You have one chance to get it right. Don't blow it.

AROMASIN.

Maybe i'm a lucky freak, but I had visible gyno through the shirt, size of a couple peanut M&Ms, lumpy under the nipples on both sides about a year ago. i've run aromasin with my test and it has dissolved COMPLETELY. I don't understand why everyone runs to the plastic surgeon when the solution is in an bottle that costs less than $100...maybe my gyno wasn't serious...and maybe i could be wrong...but gyno can't grow without estrogen...and estrogen can't form without the aromatase enzyme...and aromasin is a suicidal aromatase inhibitor...and i've watched it work...but maybe the gyno people get looks like a pornstar breast implant with white milky discharges...

just my 2 cents.

You certainly are lucky, but it is not uncommon for anti-e's to treat gyno. Should be your first line of attack. Avoid surgery at all costs. But if you have to get surgery, scrutinize the doctor like hell.

For what it's worth, I have had gynocomastia surgery for both sides, done seperately, by different doctors. My first I had done after bargain hunting--nice scar, small lump remains (feels like scar tissue, very sensitive) and has a "hole" next to my nipple when I pose.

My second surgery I paid more, and it looks totally perfect.

you get what you pay for--don't skimp on something like this!

The "dickhead" I mentioned in my thread was one of the docs someone propped up in this thread. I realize he's a good doctor for this surgery, but his "pre-consultation" requirements are (were?) just plain asinine, especially when I was spending $10k.

If I had to do it over again, I'd probably choose Dr. Silverman, but I am completely happy with Dr. Blau.
