Insurance should cover it since it was a side effect of prescribed drugs as long as the physician will agree that that's what caused it. Even if it was a natural occurence insurance should cover it. I doubt it was natural though. Just make sure he doesn't let the doctor know he's a pot user because then the insurance may not cover it.
