Is it 100% necessary to have Lipo too?

Im having gland removal, but the consultant says ill be best off having lipo to as "The fat deposits which shape the chest often need smoothing - especially around the edge of the gland which will be (or has been) removed. (Note this does not have much to do with your overall fat level - which is largely irrelevant). It is therefore strongly recommended to allow liposuction if this is deemed necessary after ultrasound and examination of the chest."

However surely if I dont have a fatty chest atall this is just overkill...opinions?

How much more are they saying the lipo is? There is not a lot of lipo if your bodyfat is low. Just enough to make sure the area contours nicely and looks right after they take out gyno and gland.

Dave Polumbo talks about how in bodybuilders, the whole gland need to be removed, and no lipo needs to be done.

Your muscle, being thicker than an average patient, will shape your chest. I would not let a surgeon try it.

Couple Questions...

Medici,

Your passion to "know" is great, you have a real strong drive which many could use. I want to ask/address a couple thoughts/concerns, not to be rude, but as an "older brother"...I may be off here as I'm only limited to what you post here, but my concern is that you seem to really have the "I want it NOW mind-set"... well, most us here do as well :D, but are trying to curb it with wisdom.

Can I ask?
You are in your low 20's yes? You have gyno already? Is it pubertal or gear related? Granted, one can get gyno anytime I suppose, but at the same time, if it is gear re-lated this soon that is not responding to anti-e's it's a little concerning.

Have you asked Phil this yet? He is my trainer too and while I do ask questions here as well sometimes, but I try to filter most of my questions through him first.

I do see some "introspection" on your part as you said you were too young for syntherol so that's great... I'm just concerned that you may either burn-out so young or beat your organ's so badly you won't be able to reach your goals.

i had my gyno cut out and my chest lipoed, but i had a bit of fat on my chest no more saggy tits, had it done last sept. and was out for 6 weeks if you can afford it i would do them bolth. beacuse you dont want to go back and have to have it lipoed out if it looks funny and be out for another month or so. The removal of the gland is no big deal back to gym in a few weeks its the lipo of the chest that takes so long to recover so if it were me i would do bolth. I also had my love handles lipoed out on dec 14th last year and still swollen 7 weeks later.

Myosin...

I had gyno in my right sight from puberty...however i did a test course and had no idea about ai's etc and developed it on my left side and made it worse on my right.

However i have learned now and know the symptoms etc and would use an ai always now.

Is it vital to wear a compression vest?
Also...how long till you think ill be back in the gym?

It seems that most Plastic Surgeons want to do the lipo.

My plastic surgeon said if I didnt have the lipo done it would leave a indentation. I have gyno only on one side so he wanted to lipo on both.

Im at 11% now.. Maybe lipo isnt nescary if your very lean. ;)

Gyno operation

Have you looked into laser liposuction? It has minimal down time and reports show that you can laser the gland and suck it out of the cannula. This mean no significant scar. Just a thought!

Dave's either full of crap or you read his message wrong. I used the doctor Dave used and that doctor usually does some lipo on most of his patients, after he removes the gland and the gyno unless your very very lean. Actually the doctor calls when he uses lipo "chest contouring".

Remember this is after the gyno and the gland are removed and just the right amount of lipo for each individual to create a cosmetically pleasing appearances.

Its kind of like using the lipo as a sander to sand say a piece of wood to even it out were there may have been and imperfection. So if you take out the gland and gyno its enough lipo to balance things out around the area were they were removed.

You really want someone just vacuuming and sucking stuff out. You detach that gland forcefully without being careful about it you will be left with an indented nipple.

I would diet away all the fat and have gland only removal. Get down to 5% and keep the E2 low, 100% of the pseudo-gyno fat will disappear, and the gland will shrink to a smaller size, this will mean less trauma when removing it, and trauma=bleeding.

Doctors discourage this because they want you to have the surgery now, and lets face it, most people who plan on losing fat do not end up doing it ever. Also, if you get fat again while your E2 level is elevated, the pseudo-gyno comes right back.

But then if you aren't careful with E2, nothing will stop the pseudo-gyno from coming back, even lipo.

So recovery is going well,

However one little concern i have is the lower half of my left nipple as alot darker than the rest of my nipple..down to lack of blood supply i guess or dead cells...its only 3days after the op...so i assume in a few weeks/months this may correct itself?

I didnt need lipo either, and arent bleeding literally atall since the first night,

Im wearing my compression vest, the surgeon says it needs to be worn for 6weeks...which seems a very long time to me?

For those who had surgery..when did you return back to the gym?:headbang:

I had the surgery before I was in to weight lifting, but I could do push ups the same day.

I have an appointment with a surgeon in 4 days for the other side.
