Gyno Surgery

Update:

it doesn’t look like I’m gonna find a plastic surgeon that accepts insurance. I have a consultation scheduled with a general surgeon in a couple weeks, but don’t know how I feel about having them do it. Everything I’ve read suggests to go with a plastic surgeon, which is understandable

My family doctor offered to remove mine. I didn't even know that was a possibility. I obviously declined.

I have heard nothing but bad things for a very long time about Blau now. Apparently he was the best in the 90s but seems to be butchering people for the last decade. Every time his name gets mentioned on this board someone has a horror story.
Blau does so many gyno surgeries there are going to be bad outcomes, also, he is a specialist in removing glandular gyno that competitive bodybuilders have, the combination of fat and gland that most people want removed is much harder to get a good outcome. You can easily diet off 100% of the soft pseudo-gyno. Also if you have loose skin to deal with the chances of a good outcome are reduced.

That’s wild. I don’t blame you lol

Am from south jersey also and going through the process again got denied the first time but with my mom getting breast cancer and the pain I actually have in my right breast I hope it covers it this time. My endo doctor recommended Dr Michael Sasso he is in south jersey
Any updates man?

I have to go through the same process I did years ago. I have to get bloodwork again and tested for breast cancer I did this process before and got denied my endo doctor thinks insurance will cover it this time. Will see

Does he think it’ll be covered by a plastic surgeon, or just a general surgeon? I was told mine would be covered under a general surgeon, but after researching i don’t feel comfortable doing that. Don’t have the cash laying around to pay a plastic surgeon unfortunately

General surgeon been doing research and trying to find one with experience the one doctor I recommended Sasso he did surgery on a co worker of mine and he did a good job.

The first time I went through cooper and there doctor Perry was a douche bag and fucked me with my insurance

Is sasso a general surgeon?

Be sure you find someone who understands gyno and how you got it,....AND has done this many times before!

If you are trying to get insurance to cover it, make sure you stress that the reason you are having it done is for PAIN! You can also use the 'cancer' route as well on top of it, and state you have a family history of it. Make sure you mention that you've had it since high school, and it's always effected you. Tell the doc that you can't lay down on your stomach, and that it hurts when your wife/GF presses up against you, as well as other people when they bump into you. DO NOT mention you have ever used gear. I'd avoid stating you use most supplements outside of stuff like fish oil and multi vitamins, and basic stuff. Try not to sound like a gym rat, but make sure you mention that you go to the gym to keep your weight and health in check. Just ask the MD right off the bat if they accept your insurance, if not, look for another one.....unless you want to just pay it out of pocket for one you have high intentions of doing the procedure.

not true. I had my surgery with blau in 2018 and it went well. Happy with the results. I did have a post op seroma which can occur many days after surgery and i was allready back in my home state. I drained it with sterile technique.

He is not your typical warm, welcoming doctor. He has a cold demeanor. But he has literally done soooooooo many gyno surgeries, and there is something to be said for experience.

I am not saying he does not have bad results... but I am saying mine and many other people have had good results.

Make sure if you have it, you wear compression for days!!!!!

Crazy thing here, guy on another forum did his own gyno surgery at home. Had his wife help, even posted pictures of the process. Absolutely disgusting.

Trying to man. Most doctors that have, are plastic surgeons, at least in my area

That’s the thing... I can get insurance to cover it, but it would be done by a general surgeon. I’ve yet to find a plastic surgeon who accepts insurance. It’s ridiculous, money is money they should take insurance dammit lol

I'll see if some of my old friends from NJ have any leads.

Some general surgeons, specialize in breast cancer. Usually they are at the womans clinic with mammogram, medical oncologists (docs that administer chemo), and then the surgeon (for mastectomy).

These surgeons, will be able to take it out. Breast cancer in Men is more prevalent than you would think. They will also help you get it covered by insurance.

what city (big city) are you in or near? I can try to look up some groups for you?
