recently I suffered a chest injury that might have caused a slight tear. I am back training chest and actually this week went heavier but used machines. My question is this. how much will this effect my chest development if any? I do no barbell work due to the stress it places on my shoulders(i can do decline barbell presses) so I do use machines. I usually do db inclines, dips, fly's, etc. right now I am advised to only do machine pressing movements until my chest heals up. It sucks but i'd rather be safe than sorry. any help or input is appreciated!

Well imo even if it is less good for gains, if you're supposed to recover from injury by doing so, in the long run it will probably deliver you more gains.
Better safe then sorry no ? :)

my thoughts exactly! Thanks man!
