I've always been a free weight kind of guy but was in Elizabethtown, KY for a baseball tournament and got a couple of free workouts at Energy Fitness.
The place was loaded with Hammer Strength equipment. Since I was working out off hours and didn't know if I could trust the few people that were there I used the Hammer Strength for my workouts.

Holy shit, I love that stuff! I need to find a gym around here that has it.

HS has great equipment. I utilize it alot especially for DC training

Hammer Strength has always been my fav. At a new gym that is the equipment I look for first.

I think free weights are the best choice for those that are new to lifting. However, I find that the older I get and the fact that I don't lift with a partner, Hammer Strength, the Smith Machine, and the like are a great way to stay in shape!

I love ending my workouts with HS machines

Definitely this ^^^

Years of wide grip (I am a dumb ass) benching has caused permanent shoulder issues. I cannot bench with free weights without seriously fucking my shoulders up.

The HS machines allow me to work the chest and manage the shoulder pain in a safe manner.

HS equipment is well made and well designed. Good stuff..

Agree completely.

I can't flat bench or OH press at all anymore. HS are the only machines that dont bother my shoulders...I always do high incline HS presses.

I normally do both decline and incline in my workouts, incline usually causes shoulder discomfort, I used both of those machines, trashed my chest and shoulders felt great afterwards......

I use HS occasionally for chest, back and shoulders and can really feel it target those muscle groups. Great for rest-pause sets, too!

The HS row works better then any free weight exercise that I know of.

From a handful of HS machine that I tried I feel Cybex made a superior pullover machine.. For me I get a much greater feel from the cybex...I don't know the exact mechanics of why...maybe Cybex I am sitting vertically while on a pulley system while the HS is slanted with plate loaded ?

Hammer Strength is great because it was made by Gary Jones, son of Nautilus creator Arthur Jones. Rumor even has it that the original design for Hammer Strength was inherited by Gary Jones from his father.

All modern machines are just copies of one of these two companies, so really, ONE PERSON maybe behind almost all modern resistance machines.

I also celebrate hammer strengths entire catelogue of equipment. I don't think it matters machine vs free weight as long as you feel it in the muscle really good.

You use the pull over machine on chest or back day?

Either or both days. I prefer to do it on back either the 1st exercise or the last. It gives you a wicked pump when done right. IMO this is a very underrated machine from what I have seen in my gym. Either people do it wrong or don't use it at all.

hammer's are great. I cant bench or bbell press anymore since I tore my rotator tendon. the hammer presses are at an angle that takes the stress off my supraspinatus while giving me a good feel of the muscles working. i'll never use benches again.

I cant really feel the decline bench press so I got away from it for a while until I found the HS decline...definitely feel that. Works great!

I like hammer strength kit to a point. I'm not a fan of the lat pull down and I don't get much from there low row.

I do love when the bros put 3-4 plates a side on the chest press for the 2 inch range of motion. All you bro ha ha

agreed

I was going to say the same thing, as an dude I find the Hammers essential to my training. They are much easier on the joints for whatever reason.
