Hard to gain past 230lb what gives?

During bulking I was able to get to 237lb but anything over that I just could not grow no matter what.

Add more calories. Its impossible to not gain more muscle if your training is good and your progressing in lifts and adding more calories.
 
How much protein are you eating daily? What is your diet like? How often do you change your routine? How long have you been lifting?

anywhere from 250grams of protein a day,

diet is decent around 4500cal during bulking. Lots of clean carbs with fats/protein.

I changed my routine every 3 months.

Training for 2 years.
 
try to up your protein. most people gain best with protein comprising 30-50% of the total calories. right now your protein is less than 25% of your calories. just change carbs for protein and leave the same total calories. do you have enough healthy fats in your diet? check this things first and report in 2 weeks. if u still can not gain maybe its time to up your hormones.

Lets look at the big picture........what happens when you get to 270LBS? Is your life going to be complete? Does how much you weigh really effect your moods in the form of a mild depression? Your pictures look great and 237LBS is a really big man, you have accomplished a lot physique wise, how do you know when and if you get to 270LBS you might get even more depressed because you can't get to 300LBS.

This sport is 90% mental and 10% illusion and that needs to be mastered first, then the gains can be made.
 
I'll spare you my opinion. Simple short answer: first up your protein, then up your doseage.

Everyone seems to have it in their head that the only thing keeping them from being 270 pounds of muscle is some more protein and some heavier weights. (This is my personal fantasy - My body disagrees)

If this was true we would all be 270 or 300 or 330 pounds and 6% body fat. BUT it's not.

Only the genetically blessed, with the aid of drugs and time plus of dedicated training become mass monsters.

This isn't intended to be a shot, your pictures are quite good. It's just the better you get the less head room you have to improve.

which i'm sure you already know the answer to. you have gained a lot of weight in the past. how did you do it? how did you get from 220 to 237? you supplied your body with a surplus of calories. you're not going to be able to continue eating 4,500 cals/day and get from 237 to 250. just not going to happen....you weigh more now, and your body requires more calories to maintain that weight. up your calories! i agree with what's been said, start by bumping up the protein. if that fails, up the carbs/fats too.

you look good, man. i remember your old posts on WBB, you've put on a ton of mass. hit those legs hard. imo, they're falling considerably behind your upper body.
 
You need more hormones

Diet will not get you more muscle without more drugs. You obviously know how to eat as you have good size already. Adding more calories will add fat weight unless you add more drugs.

Thats the facts.

If you got that big on 250 gr of protein, i don't think protein is your problem.
cut down to 5-7% then grow again...
If you gain only fat at the that stage, up the dose.
 
oh, and btw, you look fucking huge! much larger than 237 lbs... so if you cut some fat and hit something like 220 lbs, you'd look fucking huge for that weight.

I always ran just test at 500 to 750mg with some tren/dbol here and there.

I might try 1g of test.

so true.... i remember i had been lifting for about 3 years and was 5'6 155 ripped... could rep 225 about 6 times.... then i was like i really just wanna get to a good lean 165and ill be happy.... got to 165... 16 and a half inch arms... could bench 300.... then i wanted to get to about 175 lean... now i just wanna be 200...lol its never gonna stop... i feel so small at 175 right now... but i guarantee you when i;m 200 i will feel the same... def a prob i need to address
