You have one person you know. I have quite a few that I dieted myself. Some of them I dieted 4 and 5 years ago. And most of them are to this day near the weight I left them. A few did balloon back up. But they ballooned back up regardless of what diet I put them through. The reason is eating disorders.lol! hcg diet is a joke! The rebound would be 10x worse. I know because I had a friend who did it and the sad thing she was lean to start with but she wanted to gwet leaner - she did in the short term but as soon as she add an extra 500 cals and bare in mind this was still way below maintenance she ballooned and put on more weight than she started with. There would never be anyone on this [planet who would go on this diet and not fail in the end and end up putting more weight than they started with. I even heard some stupid men tried this too lol!
And even when the dieting component is done correctly, there is no diet that I know of that will accommodate eating disorders. We often refer to it as falling off the wagon. Like I said, there is no substitute for following through with a consistent exercise program at the end. Without the LBM, I don't care what diet you're on, unless you are bulimic, you will balloon back up.
