HEALING ACNE SCARS??????

My buddy has some acne scars on his shoulders...they are not the deep kind, more surface. He has been using the ACNE ANNIHILATOR and the breakouts have decreased. He was asking me about the scaring...I suggested laser surgery once everything has settled down.

Any OTC creams that may work??

ive heard mixed reviews on maderma. seems like it works for some peeps, and some not.... doesn't accutane help with healing scars also?

I had some surface type scars on my chest a while back... tried every OTC thing I could find, including mederma and glycolic acid peels, nothing helped. I actually ended up just getting a really bad sunburn on my chest, bad enough for the skin to peel, and within three days the scars were completely gone. Probably a retarded way of getting rid of them because of the risk of skin cancer, but I wasn't willing to get surgery and wanted those fuckers gone.

Mederma is good. Im using a generic with the same ingredients, trying to fade some surgery scars.

No OTC creams are really going to help. The AA is a good choice to treat the acne. To remove the scars or lighten them up maybe micro dermabrasion or chemical peels.

i've found in my experience, time is the number one thing that will help with acne scaring. accutane and retin-a can help too. retin-a has worked well for me at the strongest % available (can't remember % off hand). the way i understand it, these drugs work by increasing the speed of skin cell turn over, therefore, your body is forced to generate new skin quicker. thats the same reason retin-a is used for wrinkles. by this logic, a chemical peel, as mentioned above, sounds like it could be promising.

70% glycolic peels are starting to work on the scars on my face(from sun damage, acne, etc). I do them myself, but I can see a difference after just a few treatments. I will try to keep doing it weekly for the next few months.
