Heavy 2 weeks, Light 1 Week...

Just wanted to know if anybody has tried this with success? So for the heavy weeks i will do no more then 5 reps which will help the strength gains then the light week will be no less than 10 reps.

OR should it be Light one week heavy the next?

any help would be appreciated.

My problem is i find my self lifting the same week to week not making much strength or size gains. diet is right on it is training.

I try to do something like this because my shoulders and elbows are shot. I guess I feel I am giving them a break. Some people have told me I don't need to go real heavy, I just feel like I am cheating myself if I don't. Maybe I will pay the price for lifting heavy, don't know. I have been a little better about it lately though.
As far as better gains, for myself, I am really not sure.
 
I do this, well kinda, I got 1heavy day and a light day ew, Monday heavy legs thursday light day, like squats with stop at bottom, same on legpresses, and its working great for me, didnt squat for a year due to knee pain, now its all gone, and im getting stronger every week
 
As a former powerlifter, I used to lift heavy every week. Every week was max lifting and attempting new PR's. The key was to know when to back off. You say 2 heavy and then one light if thats what you need go for it. The traditional westside template based model would suggest a light or de-load week once a month unless you were on some type of accumulating wave. With aas in the system its not uncommon not to need to de-load for 6 or even 8 weeks. Experience and one's training log are usually the best teachers. If you fail to progress in consecutive weeks thats likely a sign to modulate things
 
The hardest part is making sure u force yourself to back off the heavy weight after your 2 week period. Heavy weight is addicting especially when u start hitting pr's each week. Each week u keep trying for more and more weight until you realize u maxed out for 6 weeks straight. Your cbs is shot and joints are crying for help!! Yep I love that shit

great to do this esp. when your doing almost 100% of what you got each week, a break into lighter weight for just the pump and burn is good for muscles also.
