Heavy squats hurting my shoulder sockets!

So Ive been working on my squats latley and my shoulders are killing me ,I put the bar pretty far back when going heavy ,Im guessing this is pulling /stretching my shoulders back in a bad way as I grip the bar.I was thinking of getting a cambered squat bar ,then I thought ,what if I just attach my cheap lifting straps to the bar and grip them?Any input would be great as you would not belive the PAIN im having cuz of this:(

Im having the pain in my elbows from squatts , man it fn kills , the only thing that sorta helps is elbow brace and then straps wrapped over the top .
 
This is acutally quite normal as most people who lift avoid stretching. You need to start stretching your chest more and or have deep tissue done. This has helped me greatly in times past. Once you can open up more the less stress you'll feel through the shoulders.
 
this is very common with frequent squatting, along with bicep tendonidous. my shoulders are fucked right now from squatting twice a week. def get a cambered or buffalo bar, or even an 8ft squat bar.

stretch, and grip the bar wider. other than that, it comes with the territory. u can squat one week and do DL the next, this will cut down on frequency and help out alot
 
Try doing leg presses just to get the bar off your back and give the shoulders a break. I have to use an 8ft squat bar because I can't get under a 7ft bar. Lack of flexibility and 340lbs of BW won't let me. A safety squat bar works well too. Make sure you do some shrugs and plenty of rear delt and upper back work. Oh, and stretch often.

Your right...My shoulder hurts so much now that I have to grab the bar right at the collar section....and with the lighter weight it feels better just to hang my fingers on the edge of the plates......I'm sure age doesn't help here either....
 
Im taking it easy till my shoulders feel better ,it just sucks cuz my squat was going good ,I was doing sets of 405 with no belt or wraps no problem ,till my shoulders started acting up:( I need to figure something out as far as squatting heavy ,I need to find a gym public or private that has the equipment I need or is willing to let me use some of my stuff there if I invest in some bars.I had a regular bar bent just right (looked like a buffalo bar) till the manager at golds replaced it with a nice new shiny one:rolleyes: Im in vegas if anyone knows of a dungen in my area.Thanx

If you are in Vegas you need to train at Sin City Barbell. A friend of mine owns it. Let me dig around for his phone number and I'll PM you. Mark has all of the necessary equipment and there are alot of strong people to train with.

there is also a powerlifting gym up there called.... "The Gym"

Hey B_B, it's the same place that used to be called "The Gym". It used to be over by Cheetah's but the name was changed to Sin City Barbell and it has been moved. The owner is a friend of mine and I used to train there.

Funny story: Pulled in there to train one day and there were a couple of young hotties checking me out and talkin' shit to me. I went in the gym and asked what the hell was up with those bitches. Turns out they were call girls, LOL.

I'm just busting your bubble a little...I mean nothing at all but just j/king with you....I dislocated my shoulder a few years ago and I can't grab the fucking bar either.....It feels best when I just drape my hands over the plates...
I'm 47 soon to be 48 my squating heavy days are over...

I'm having knee surgery on the 9th...My 3rd one so my squating days are pretty much over....I guess I'll have to join the other 85% of the guys who make up excuses not to squat....LOL...
