Apologies for the long introduction.
I've been lurking here for a while now and finally decided to say hello. I've been checking out many of the body building boards and like the people/posts that I see here.
I still quiet a bit of a newb so I don't know how much I would contribute compared to all you veterans but I promise not to be a pain in the ass. I just want to learn.
I started body building in earnest two years ago. I was 39, and was 190 lbs of lethargic fat. The only exercise I did was lifting pint glasses of beer.
My change of heart came when my two daughters commented on how "big" my stomach was. (Thank God for a young child's honesty.) I looked in the mirror and saw a nice double chin coming out and a f-ing huge beer belly. It was a serious reality check.
That week I quit drinking and enrolled into a gym and committed myself to giving it my all for 10 weeks. During that time I lost 20 lbs of fat and began to see some muscle. Needless to say I became hooked. I continued with my program and got myself down to 154 lbs while continuing to grow muscle.
I'm now 165 with @ 10% body fat. I'm now to a point where I feel like I need to learn from people who know how to grow properly. Hence my joining this board.
Thanks in advance to all you guys and gals for your contributions. I've really been enjoying all that I've been reading.
