I have a bald circle on the side of my head and it’s been there for around 6 months. It hasn’t spread but it’s really making me feel extremely self conscious. Is there anything I can take or apply to the area for the hair to grow back? The rest of my hair is very healthy and thick. Any help would be very appreciated

That sucks brother. I would see a dermatologist about it.

I’m not an expert but I don’t believe your condition would be corrected by finasteride or dutasteride.

I figured that would be my best option. I don’t want to take DHT blockers if I don’t have to
What you describe sounds like alopecia areata so Finasteride will do fuck all and might do more harm, you should really be asking your doctor / dermatologist instead of us, six months is a lot of time without doing anything about it.

I was advised by a dermatologist that there’s nothing they can really do about alopecia areata. Basically told to wait and hope it returns

I would google natural things before I would take a medication. I had some patches appar in my beard forget what I did but tried some things I found on google, may have been oils and vitamins. I went away, acme back again once but then went away again.

Finasteride isn't going to help with Alopecia , it's an autoimmune issue.

Is this bald spot is not caused by androgenic alopecia aka male pattern baldness?

Iv had them on my head and in my beard half a dozen times. Got them in severe stress times. Shots of cortisone directly into them and they all grow back pretty quick within a few months

Had it as a kid. Some docs say it's stress induced. Others didn't know. Tried all kinds if vitamins. Eventually went away and my hair grew back. It was mainly my eyebrows. Believe i took vitamin d for it.
