I'm struggling to eat enough to grow, and really struggling to afford enough food. i have 3 contests next year and im trying to get up to 240lbs i weigh around 220lbs at the moment. im 19, and 6ft1. Ive been slacking from my diet lately and just eating whatever i feel like.

Here is what I had planned to eat daily for the next 5-6 months

Meal one: 2 scoops of protein powder and 3 raw eggs, mixed with milk. 2 Wheatabix with milk and 2 slices of brown bread with peanut butter and jam.

Meal two: Minced Beef or chicken, Rice, pea's and 2 eggs

Meal three: Minced Beef or chicken, Rice, pea's and 2 eggs

Meal four: 2 scoops of protein powder and 1 scoop of waxy maize starch

Train

Meal five: 2 scoops of protein powder and 1 teaspoon of glutamine, 1 apple, 1 chicken breast with satay sauce or BBQ sauce

My training is basic stuff, heavy and good form. no more than 6-7 sets per workout. more reps for back and legs because they grow better for me if i do more volume.

Am i eating enough? is my macro count up to scratch? am i doing this right?

How many carbs are you taking in each day?
I only grow when I have a surplus of complex carbs

Personally I benefit from getting my protein from more whole foods rather than shakes. Seems like you could add more whole foods to your diet as 3 out of 5 meals are mainly shakes? But I know for some cost factor changes things a bit. Curious to see what others think.

Besides my whole food, I've been running a pera-workout protocol like John meadows talks about. Has helped a lot thus far this off season

It's very easy if you'll start with 2 - 1 - .5 rule :D

carbs x 2 ; protein x 1 ; fats x .5 ; per body you aim for, so for 240 lbs:
500g carbs 250g protein 120g fats - approximatelly

Example diet:
6 whole eggs with cup of oats and raisins or banana/apple
protein shake with nuts
6-8oz chicken and 2 cups rice, olive oil
preworkout-cream of rice, with whey and nut butter in it
post workout shake - 100g sugars, with scoop whey isolate
6-8oz beef and 2 cups rice
salmon/chicken with salad/olive oil or you can have rice too

this was my offseason diet and I got 262 lean^^

Do this for a week or two then if not gaining add more carbs/fats if gaining too much remove some carbs/fats (you have more than enought protein)

What is minced beef? Ground beef? For a budget why not add some canned tuna? I eat the tuna in olive oil and it is tasty and cheaper than ground beef. Also one of the tuna companies makes those tuna fillets In the foil pouches they are pre flavored lemon pepper is awesome. I get those for like 2 bucks each and eat 2 at a time.

Minced=ground

Lol never heard it called that

Americans have weird names for things :D Say what you see... minced beef. He is from the uk matey... thats what us brits call it ;)

here is a typical day for me:

egg. toast. jam.
whey. oats.
steak. rice. veggies.
whey. oats.
steak. rice. veggies.
whey. oats.

~ 50g protein per meal.
~ 50g carbs per meal.
whatever fats trying to gain or lose.

if you want to add calories:
have a couple of tbsp peanut butter to the shakes.
olive oil to the meals.

I figured it had to be a British thing lol. What is a mince pie?

A mince or (minced) pie is just a little pie made from minced meat and usually some sort of fruit and/or spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg. We mainly have them during christmas... well I don't as there not very nice :D

I forgot that 90% of people on here are from the US and eat at Wendy's and taco bell... whatever the hell they are.

Minced beef/ground beef are the same thing

for Mr. "Krunkkid13"
mince pie's taste like shit unless you put loads of cream on them or brandy butter, but there only acceptable to eat at christmas.

So back to the diet. I only have around £50-£60 to spend on food every 2-3 weeks.

so i buy cheap white rice, and cheap mince meat, not very organic or healthy... but i do my best. buy a big ass tub of protein every 2 months. and buy mixed bag of frozen veg or bag of pea's.

Can't believe what I'm hearing, EVERYONE likes mince pies

hamburger meat sometimes i can get away with a fatter cut if i use the grill
Pasta, pasta,pasta
