help with cholesterol

hey guys just got my test back and my cholesterol is not too good.
HDL-30 needs to be 40-59.LDL-155 needs to be 0-99.looked at some old post this seems to be a common problem with ASS.will be trying some of the suggestions.like niacin,garlic i have been taking a omega3 already going to increase the amount.also started back doing cardio.also seen where nolva my help with cholesterol.will it help when your off cycle or just when you are on.
also i have been off my last cycle for about 13-weeks now will cholesterol get back in check over time or is this a problem that ASS causes and you have to work to keep it in check.how do you guys keep yours in check when your on a cycle and what ASS is the worst for your cholesterol.thanks for any input on this.

my stats 40 years old 5 11" 217lbs

last cycle 12-week's
100mg test prop eod
100mg mast E eod
400mg eq week
30mg anavar ed for 8-weeks
also 3-week pct.nolva & clomid
 
I work with a very good doctor - very well known in the bodybuilding arena. He has me consume the following foods daily to assist with raising HDL:
- Olive Oil (not heated on high - will damage fats, and basically turn them into free radicals or even worse trans fats) I just drink 2 tablespoons - maek sure it is extra virgin.
- Whole eggs - yes, yolk and all. To much good stuff in the yolk to get into here..
- Natural Peanut Butter

Don't be scared of the eggs. Your liver will make more cholesterol if you don't get enough in your diet. If you get plenty in your diet, your liver will make less. Don't worry so much about total cholesterol either. In fact, you should check out this site:
www.thinc.org look at some of the studies on statins and cholesterol...

Just focus on the HDL - the other things you mentioned niacin garlic etc.. are also very good.

I just saw where you had Omega 3's too - also very good. Our diets are way to high in Omega 6's and not high enough in Omega 3's. The ratio is very important. Get the high DHA eggs. The alpha linolenic stuff you get in flax seed converts to EPA, which then converts to DHA by the way. I personally dont believe you even need flax seed oil if your goal is strictly to get Omega 3. Just get straight fish oil (best got from wild alaskan salmon or even sardines).

Really good post!

Also add 2-4 oz servings of plain oatmeal (add some fruit to flavor it up), and 2 heaping teaspoons of Metamucil each day. Cut out the butter and cheeze - use flaxseed oil in drinks, etc.

I've watched several people drop total cholesterol by over 100 points, and greatly improve HDL/LDL ratios, as well as triglycerides. Using this approach, I got off the fucking Lipotor, and actually got my values below what that awful drug did!
 
thanks guys for all your input i will give it a try.will let you know how it works.going back for blood work in 90-120 days to see how it looks.thanks again.
 
I follow pretty much what Dad has said. I use steel cut oatmeal, metamucil, olive oil, fish oil capsules, and eat fish a couple of times a week. Good cholesterol stays between sixty and seventy.
 
thanks again guys any info on this sudject is a great help to us all.does your cholesterol stay low when on a cycle when you are useing these products.
 
i got my overall down to 121 with my LDL at 81 but my LDL is only 26. my doc isnt really concerned to much though he said he would still like to see the LDL atleast into the mid 30's. he said he doesnt see numbers that low very often. i never asked him but....how low is to low as far as overall, can LDL be to low?
 
actually you are not that far off. to be honest your ldl is within range, 60-180 mg/dl if you are below 65 yrs of age. and if you are over 65(which i am guessing you are not) the range increase to 92-221 mg/dl. now the range for the hdl is 45-50 mg/dl (increase with age also). so i would just concentrate on bringing up your hdl. i've heard that cranberry juice can increase your hdl. so it wouldnt hurt to try either.

Total or LDL Cholesterol can absolutely be to low as well. Cholesterol is vital parent molecule of many our sex and adrenal hormones. Also, check out the site I listed above. It is a boring site, but there is alot of information you might find very interesting. www.thinc.org

There was a study where a culture (Australian aboriginese - spellin?) had the lowest cholesterol levels, and also the highest rates of heart disease, while Switzerland was the exact opposite.

I think the gov't has villified saturated fats and cholesterol waaay to much. Both are good for you in moderation. Talk to any doctor up to date on the latest research and you'll hear the same.
