Help with Neck pain

Once again i turn to my trusted PM friends. ive been getting stiff necks almost every night, and it seems like the more weight i put on the worse and more frequebt they get. ive bought new pollows, extra firm. but nothing seems to help. ive tired bananas befroe bed and motrin before bed too. then only thing i can do is take a bunch of advil before i lift so i can get a good workout in. any advice?
 
I get neck pain from stress. My massage therapist tells me that it's also from sitting at my desk and being the computer for long hours. Also women who carry around large, heavy purses have a lot of neck and shoulder problems. Not saying you carry a purse, but it could very well be something other than your work outs causing the pain.

Take note on what you doing at work... do you sit a the computer too long. How is the height of your computer keyboard?
 
So, you're telling us to quit carrying around our "Man Bags" :D

I've got the same problem, neck problem that shoots pain half way down my back. It happens every 3 months or so at the gym, when for some reason........ I tilt my head back at the gym.
 
I had the same problems, my advice is to go see a good physiotherapist, learn some good neck stretches...
I have learned the neck is a very important part of our bodies...Getting swollen stiff muscles can cause so much grief from discomfort to full blow vestibular aggravation that can make you dizzy and nauseous to no end...Lots going on in that bridge between our brains and bodies to look after...

try using an inversion table a few times per week.

I knew as soon as I typed that someone would be like WTF? and flame me. LOL

If you travel a lot those carry-on bag with shoulder straps or laptop case can really do a number on your neck.

Everlast wants to get one of those contraptions that strap your feet in and hang upside down by your feet... I think they are called inversion therapy or anti-gravity boots. But something tells me that it has nothing to do with his neck. :eek:
