Help with swollen pec

Hey everybody, thanks BigA and Co. for the great board. I'm new here and would appreciate some help. I took a break from training for a month that turned into 4 months, just trained chest for the first time back the day before yesterday with a moderately intense session.
Of course I'm experiencing deep sorness but the problem is my weak side pec is actually swollen.

Nothing strange happened during the session and it felt great to be back, this pec thing is troubling. I've never taken a break that long before. Has anyone had this happen before? What should I do to help it heal so I can train again in 4 days? Thanks

Yeah that occured to me

. Thing is I've been training serious about 14 years and this has never happened before, wondering what would cause it.

You may have done some damage. I had the same thing happen with my biceps after a bit of a break... take it easy. If you're still sore, you're not doin yourself any good by goin back to the gym again. It's gonna take some time before your body can handle the intensity you used to train with... and that's even while using lighter weight. THe last thing you want is to end up with a serious injury that will keep ya out of the gym even longer.

Swelling?

Is there any coloring/bruise? Is it warm? If your pec gives your problems i would have some neuromuscular therapry(basically deep tissue work) done on it and possibly if no brusing(tears) some ultrasound done(not the basic but the deep heat) this could help out. Also anti inflamatories, rest, ice and stretching will help out! Good luck and let us know!

Apreciate the replies, there is no bruising as of yet I've been icing it down and stretching easy. I think I'll have to lay of chest for at least a week if not two. It is a little warm not that bad as in infection warm or anything.

What got me is that I've got some experience after nearly 14 years of serious training, and this never happened to me or any one of my training partners in all this time. I've never even heard of it happening. You live you learn.

Actually the pec *looks* GREAT LOL. As if I gained about 1 1/2 inches in one comeback session but I'd much rather get it the hard way. Ill just train around chest for a while and see. thanks
