Help with why I retain water.

5 powerades is equal to roughly 175 additional carbs (sugar) in your diet. Are you saying you did this for just one day, or consecutive days? You are chalking your bloat up to an electrolyte deficiency? Interesting results for sure.

Damn that is a lot of nasty high fructose corn syrup. Better off with gatorade if one needed to drink one of those types of sport drinks.

My first reaction is -diet. Are you eating any sugars at all throughout the day and how much carb are you taking in?
Also what dosages of test cyp/ enanthate were you running?

My first thought was sugar substitutes like Splenda. I have cut most sugar substitutes out of my diet and no longer stay bloated all day. Just a thought.

I do not currently use any Splenda or stevia through the day other than what is in the True Nutrition protein that I drink pre and intra workout. I did use alot of it when I drank tea all the time, but I've cut that out.
 
One other thing that I thought about was the Adex that I use. It's a liquid research brand, so who knows if .25mg's is really .25mg's. I guess that's just the unknown factor you deal with when using research chems.
 
Dang I couldve written this topic.... are you me?

Im around 9-10% and in the morning I look so cut and in the same evening I can look 6 months pregnant. Weight can fluctuate so badly I can drop 10lb of water in 2 days of no carbing and I can get 10-12lb heavier after a heavy cheat day. What helped a bit was dropping all carbs until PM workout but still there's a big difference after waking up and a few hours after..
 
Not to add another layer of speculation here, but I think it could also be cortisol.

That's my case. And Im also helping a friend with prep, my sister too, and had the advantage of seeing their bloodwork. Everything else was ok, but cortisol on all of ours both was whacked. Way high.

My sister and I weren't eating enough, my friend either and in addition he was (always does) overtraining on top of it.

Eating enough goes a long way. Cut the protein down to 1.2 grams per lean LB. and add it back in carbs. If you're one of these people (like me) fasted cardio is out. That just makes it worse. Cortisol is high in the morning, and adding fasted cardio just keeps it up all day, IME.

Cortisol rises from everything we BBers generally do. Overtrain, undereat, job stress, lack of sleep.

Increase overall cals a bit until you de-bloat then keep it there.
Lower protein a little
Eat 25 grams of carbs several times a day. It doesn't take much to blunt cortisol, but especially when you get up. Even if you do this 6x it's only 150 carbs. Bit if you stiil undreat overall, it won't be enough.
Use a decent cortisol (actually 11-beta-HSD enzyme) blocker like 7-keto or 11-Ketotestosterone.

It's easy. Get up, eat. Gym, Post-workout carbs with 7 keto. 7 Keto at lunch, eat, eat, eat. 6 meals, no bloat.

Thanks for that info. It could very well be cortisol. Even if it isn't 100% the cause, im sure some of it is still due to cortisol.

Is there a certain brand of 7 Keto and dosage you recommend?
 
I have always had a similar issue, even pre aas. years back the first time I got myself into shape I weighed myself every day at the gym. I found when I drank alcohol my weight would fluctuate about 20 lbs over like a 36hr period, first day 10lbs light next 10 heavy. the skin on my stomach hurt from the changes.

I find Cialis pulls out lots of sq water for me. makes me look much dryer and super veiny.

I have no great solution for this though.
 
sorry i skimmed through this but you should check to see if you have a medical issue ... kidney function ... cortisol ... etc.
 
My last set of labs didn't show any kidney issues. I don't think I've ever had my cortisol checked. I will have that added to my next set of labs.

Reduce your carbs, do some cardio. Post some pics. I'll bet my left testicle you are not 10% body-fat.

Underestimation of body fat is very common.

I'm more than 50lbs heavier than you, and I don't eat 330 grams of carbs in the off season and still grow just fine, AND I stay lean. I don't eat that much carbs because I get fat and retain water.

Your taking in over 1200 calories a day in carbs. Without knowing anything about your training, etc, I suspect you are simply eating too many carbs, retaining water.

All these responses are WAY to technical when they don't know shit about you.

KISS. Keep It Stupid Simple (less offensive version)
Reduce carbs, add some cardio. keep your carbs fast burning (white rice, etc) Lower your test dosage to maintenance dose (250/wk).
Do this for 4 weeks. I'll bet you see some nice reduction in that water retention.

Great post. For me carbs make no difference and if anything I look less bloated due to filling the muscle and dragging the water from subq to im. I'm staying real dry currently on 500 carbs daily but I'm cutting. I think insulin sensitivity is a big player in this though. I'll drop carbs a bit when I'm bulking though as they can bloat in a calorie surplus if you over spill. Fast burning carbs i agree with 100%. Cardio helps a ton I agree. As I said in previous post bloat for me only a problem on work days when I'm on my feet all day and I'm guessing food not digesting as well. But I'll also say this. Once my body fat gets nice and low it becomes a complete non issue as the water has no where to leach into. Once my waist hits 30 inch or so (probably 8%) I litteraly cannot bloat what ever I eat or use.
