I've been running GH this way with great results. I began at 4iu per day (2iu AM and PM). After a couple of months I switched to 10iu postworkout, 3 days per week. This has eliminated some of the sides (such as tingling hands) and has given me great results in terms of mass gains. The large single dose will cause a bigger rise in IGF levels (which will stay elevated for as long as 72 hrs) than split smaller doses will.
