Hiding Gear from your Girl

I'm sorry, but I disagree with this statement.

Jrod told me upfront about his dvd collection and I was cool with it. I never talked talked about it, unless he did. I never got on the phone with my friends to tell the world. My lack of knowledge about the situation prompts questions every now and then (especially after reading stuff on here), but he's completely honest about the whole thing. He answers questions. He's patient with me wanting to learn about it... and I want to learn about it (not for my own use), but because if it helps him, I'm interested in knowing how.

Not every girl is the same. I'm maintaining my original comment:"If you're going to be living with her, then she needs to know what's in her house, too. You don't have to throw it in her face or talk about it all the time, but don't keep it a secret. Just keep it discreet. Maybe try bringing it up in a casual conversation about health, working out, etc. She doesn't have to be okay with it, but someone else will be. Always... always be honest."

Well that's fine and dandy, but you're an exception not the norm, I'm speaking from experience... It's not as if we're living in Mexico, this is ILLEGAL... Why take a chance like that? I know several people who were involved in things that they shouldn't have been and every time they got caught it was because of gf's or wives running their mouths... That's just my opinion and what I would and will do from now on... Of course everyone is different... But this board is for sharing our opinions and the first one was mine...

if you can't tell your live-in gf or wife about using anabolics....how can you tell her that you just lost your job, or you have cancer? some things in life aren't worth hiding. even though it's illegal...i say tell them...it's an important decision in your life, and her's...if it's in the house, it's a right to know...especially if you share the house...

Well if all women were as understanding as you, (and most importantly, kept things quiet) then this world would be a much better place... I'm only speaking from experience and my point is why take a chance, especially with one's freedom? Maybe I should have worded things differently, but it was a result of personal experiences believe me... and when it comes to a subject like this; I feel that it's better safe than sorry... I've read lots of horror stories like this on this board in fact, where the relationship with bad and the ex turned her former bf or husband in... I don't doubt that you're a great woman and can keep things quiet; that seems very evident to me from what you're writing... However, with an issue as delicate as this one, it's best to assume the worst case scenario, most of the time... and it's a safe bet that if he's asking us; he's likely unsure...

Here's the thing I found out, with my wife, of 18 years: when you tell your woman something, you're telling her whole family. I've got a messed up back, and take opioids - doctor prescribed - to make the pain bearable. Never hid it - why should I? They're from a doctor, FFS. My wife knows I'm in pain.

She, however, told her sister, who is in AA and has friends in NA. Guess what? They start talking about me being an addict, about requiring an intervention, yada yada yada. Mind you, I've never missed a day of work; I'm a highly-paid consultant; I work out, hard - and I get this shit from her family.

Until you know all her relatives, how they will react, her friends, and how they will react, I say keep your mouth shut.

Now, I'll piss some people off: wtf is all the drama about this being such a big part of your life? FFS, it's an injection a day, at most - I'm guessing you're really only pinning 1x/wk. That's a big part of your life? Jesus. A big part of your life is your job, your school, your house, your plans, your love...if it's a needle, then you do have a problem.

Thats from guys who left the syringe in the bathroom or were caught with the pin in the quad. You are going to be dealing with it if you play long enough. Or have to be bailed out.

Would however be discreet as possible to protect her more than to protect yourself.

But thats from guys who do a whole lot more and if you were to ask us, its always best to be discreet and deal with the truth when and if it arises.

If its true love, there will be some acceptance. If its not, well maybe thats not the one you need loving you.

Yes you are a phucked up, potentially narcistic, gear user. But in our book, that still makes you worth loving.

This is so true. I love every time there is a little fight, the girls will throw out the fact that you're "on" as if that is the culprit, as if that were the sole cause of every little argument.

My favorite is when I hear this line, and I'm just taking gh or peptides, because to her if a needle is involved, it's obviously steroids.

All in all my girl is real cool about it though. She even pokes me sometimes, but it did take a little bit of education to get her to understand it a little better, and I also think just showing her how much I know about the topic helped ease her mind, opposed to having a girl think you're just taking some random drug and hoping for the best.

agreed!! you guys are funny. so do you think if you get into a fight shes going to go tell on you? wtf! im 40 yrs old. i stopped tattle tailing about 35 yrs ago. and if she does tell on you what are they going to do? unless you are dealing and keep heavy amounts of gear in your home then whats the problem?

Instead of flat out telling your Wife/Gf that you use gear why not ask her if she would be OK with you starting gear. If you can get here on board then your good to go. Just make sure you order some first before breaking out the current stash. If not your stuck hiding it till you can get her on board. Asking for her permission to do something generally scores points in most situations.

I keep my stuff in an old Scivation 10lb protein box up at the top of a closet where we store stuff. I've tried to tell my girl but she only thinks I use orals and won't believe I pin because I use to be scared of needles. I am actually scared of them when someone else is behind it.
