High Glutathione(bloods)

I was reading up about the importance of glutathione and figured why not get a blood test to see where I'm at. Levels were a little high. I'm not sure why but I'm hoping that's a good thing.

Total Glutathione: 341 HIGH range 176-323
 
I inject 100mg of Glutathione daily. It's very beneficial. One of the ways udca protects your liver is by Glutathione up regulation. Now idk if that's supposed to translate to high Glutathione on bloods. But I would imagine so and I would imagine it's a good thing.

I do not take NAC but I take some of what is in this article that says it boosts glutathione:

I take 600mg milk thistle 2x per day
Milk Thistle Extract (Silybum marianum)
(standardized to 80% silymarin)(seed)

I take around 150g hydro whey per day

300-600mg ALA, 8-10g Vitamin C and 400iu Vitamin E per day
 
probably the ala...
blood glutathione levels do not necessarily show one thing.
getting one test n seeing them 3 pts high or so I think in the big picture is mostly meaningless.

it COULD indicate that the sup you take does something but very hard to say.

glut levels can go up as a simple stress response.

Yes good point but I doubt it's the ala because about a month before the test I was only taking 300mg ala around 3-4x per week with post workout shake. Plus it was just regular Ala I was using which is pretty weak compared to superior forms of ala.
 
things like nac and ala actually work quite fast.
like you eat them n they start doing there thing...
nothing wrong with ala. nac is far superior for liver support but the altered forms of ala I think show more relevance in terms on insulin and marketing rather then night n day superiority for liver support.

milk thistle is an old school one that might add something too.

I was thinking the main reason for the levels being high is my whey protein. It's #2 on the study I posted above in increasing glutathione and I consume most my protein from hydrolized whey(around 150-200g daily)
 
There's many minerals and vitamins, as well pulsatile pineal secretions that are intermediates and co-factors too glutathione synthesis.

Hyperfixating on what was the direct cause will drive you bonkers.

Good point. I'm not sure how long supplements have an effect on glutathione levels but I had my bloods done fasted. Last supplements and whey were consumed maybe 36hr prior to the blood draw.

Do you take any B vitamins, melatonin or a multivitamin? Eat any veggies--broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, ect?
