High hematocrit not a problem, no more donations!!!!!

I didn't feel effects until I started getting close to the 60's hematocrit wise. Topped out at 61. Brought it back down inrange with extensive stair climbing for cardio and donating.

Docs might not be too worried about it but I sure don’t like being severely out of breath after a set. When I have symptoms I know I need to donate or lower my dose. Cardio is a big part of my training so being winded easily is a no go.

some peeps have symptoms and some none. some get symptoms the moment they go over 50% hct and this is not strange.

go by symptoms, not just numbers.

symptoms can be blurred vision, difficult breathing, sleep disturbances, headaches, fuzzy and slower mentation and cognition, tinnitus.

watch out for lowering your ferritin to low with donations. also high RBC count drains the ferritin and iron depots and can give severe symptoms as well. keeping rbc's in check is a very smart thing, not just for risk of clots

no those would be obviously too late symptoms. thick blood has many symptoms: tinnitus, brain fog, sleep issues, worsening of eye vision etc. these all come way before the real serious one. always pay attention to hb and hct, important health markers
