High Hematocrit TRT

Hi guys!

I´ve been 3 years on TRT and my doses is 50mg e3d, that put me in normal levels ( third day im in 6ng ). The problem is the hematocrit is always between 52-54. I´ve tried almost everything:

- cardio
- stop smoking
- nattokinase
- grapefruit
- increase the water intake

A month ago i went to donate blood, before the donation it was 54 and a month after is still in 54. All others parameters in bloodtest is ok, and my trt doctor said that there is no evidence that high hematocrit harm you, but there are lot of people who are struggling down it. I went to the hematologist and he only said that reduce my trt doses, which i dont consider because i started on 33mg e3d and with my current dose i feel better.
I prefer to stay in normal ranges, could they help me?

are your platelets in range?

if you have sleep apnea get it treated. If you aren’t sure get a sleep study. Do cardio 5 times a week at an appropriate duration (45 mins for me) and intensity. you already mentioned drinking proper amounts of water. These are things that helped me. I wouldn’t ignore it or just accept it.

edit, I see you mentioned cardio also. Check into sleep study

as already written go get a sleep study, i snore like an absolute monster and turns out i have obstructive apnea, got a cpap and now the snoring is down to a minimum and my hematocrit dropped to.

It's sad how many people still think this is a problem, despite there clearly being no evidence that it is. You're stressing yourself out for absolutely no reason. High hematocrit from TRT doesn't raise risk of thrombosis, period. 52-54 isn't bad at all to begin with.

You should be grateful that you have a TRT doctor who keeps up with the evidence and knows this fact.

Very simple question, when you got the bloodwork done were you well hydrated? Or do you take the test completely fasted with no water?

The crazy part is his doctor was 100% right and he didn't believe him.

We've done this song and dance too many times. We have to let guys hurt themselves because that's the only way they'll learn this lesson. If they can't research and find their way through the bullshit and fearmongering then they aren't cut out for this lifestyle.

Agreed...hell I wish I was in the 52-54 range. LOL

i did it a year ago, but the problem is during i couldnt sleep, only 4 hours, and the result said that i have not too much apneas during the night. But i try to do it again

There is a famous cardiologist here in Spain who works with bodybuilders and he says is very important to have a hematocrit lower than 50. Having a high hematocrit has no advantages, so thats why i try to put in range.

The "famous cardiologist" is incorrect. There is no disadvantage if platelets are normal and you have no clotting disorder....as your doctor stated

I’m 240lbs, fairly lean. I bike for miles at 5,000+ ft elevation. I make an effort to hike at 8-12,000ft elevation regularly. If my HCT wasn’t 52-54 I would be miserable trying to do those activities.

Exactly,, being well hydrated makes a huge difference.

If an award winning mathematician says 2 + 2 = 5, his credentials don't change the fact that he is wrong.

But the fact is before be on trt in the same hydrated condition i was in 47, right now 54, same conditions. And now i try to drink at least 500ml of water before the bloodwork
