high Muscle enzyme Levels? never heard of this before

just got my blood work levels done and everything came back normal except muscle enzyme levels were elevated. Doc wants to re-test in a month.

I started taking zocur a few months ago and doc said high muscle enzyme levels could be a side effect of that.

I've never heard of muscle enzyme levels before and not particularly worried about it at this point.

anyone have any experience with it?

also when I started the zocur (4 months ago) I took 10ml once a day for a about a month and now probably take it twice a week. cholesterol went from 290 to 220. I'm happy.

Yes it can be common for those enzymes to be elevated in the presence of muscle tissue breakdown, like from exercise. I had hi levels a few times. not to worry. Also they will be hi post heart attack...way hi! just keep an eye on it and follow up with md.

There are many enzymes in the body, most of them are also contained in muscles, you have to be more precise.
