higher dose PROPECIA

Anyone been on a higher dose of finasteride for a while? Results?
I've been using about 1 mg (1/4 tab Proscar) for years now with good results, but all of the sudden for the past month or so I've been losing hair like crazy...mostly at my hairline. Switching test from Galenika to Testoviron shouldn't have had anything to do with it, right?? They're both enanthate at the same dose with no other factors changed. It just doesn't make any sense. One thing though is that I've been on amoxicillin at 1000mg/day for several months. I've asked my doc if a high level of antibiotics like that would affect absorption of the finasteride and he says definitely not.

The only thing I can think to do is try bumping up the finasteride to 2 mg per day. Does it really make a difference going from 1 to 2 mg? Libido side effects go up too?

ive read that the proper ratio of propecia to test is 200-250mg : 1 mg

antibiotics can cause hair loss. the warnings i read of this said the hair loss is not permanent.

i doubt the difference in test brand is what is causing the shedding.

the anabolicminds anti-aging forum has some people who know alot about proscar and antibiotics etc... you could try searching there.

I have read a few studies that show that .5mg of propecia is just as effective and will do the trick in saving hair...I have tried .5 to see if there are less sides and it seems to lessen the sides, yet keep the same results on hair.

A buddy of mine introduced me to a site i beleive it was called propeciahelp.com or something along those lines...it really scared the shit out of me reading all the sides and lives of people this drug has ruined. If anyone is taking this drug and just doesn't feel "right" you should check out that site..i am lucky where the sides don't hit me that hard, but a buddy of mine really felt depressed, cloudy all the time and no enegery...on top of not being able to get it up to save his life.

The studies I read back in the day indicated that the hair saving properties were not dosage related.

I bumped it up to 2mg/day.

Good Point Jacornis, I will try to find the study. Depending on the pathway in which it works, if it is "plugging holes" so to speak, to keep other molecules from binding, it may not matter how much else is knocking at the door. I will try to dig up the study I had and link, not sure I can find it again as I have had to change computers since then.
