Hey I'm trying to help out my fiance. Any one know some good hip thrust barbell pads? I know they're a ton but if anyone has real world experience and can recommend me some id appreciate it!
What's the weight they start giving in? 365?I have yet to find a reasonably comfortable pad past a certain weight to be honest.
I'm a pussy and even much less cuts me in halfWhat's the weight they start giving in? 365?
Well she won't be doing that much lolI'm a pussy and even much less cuts me in half
I totally get u on this never thought of that but it could turn into a ego lift. I wouldn't doubt it isn't on par with "how much do you bench"This is one of the reason why hip thrusts seem like a dumb exercise. The leverage is so favorable that you need to use a lot of weight, so much that it becomes impractical or even unsafe.
Full disclosure, I’ve never tried them for max weight, so maybe I’m way off base here and they are an important exercise. But the cynic in me thinks they’re so popular because even someone who can’t squat a lot can pile the weight on and have an impressive looking lift. No disrespect intended towards the fiancée of the op
It has It's uses. It's a good exercise to get the glutes warmed up and firing before squats/RDLs etc for women that are trying to prioritize glutes over quads/hamstrings (which is most women). This is one of the reason why hip thrusts seem like a dumb exercise.
