Hey I'm trying to help out my fiance. Any one know some good hip thrust barbell pads? I know they're a ton but if anyone has real world experience and can recommend me some id appreciate it!

I guess it's the same as a barbell squat pad. I know this isn't a place to ask about pads 😂

A good bar pad for squats is what I see most women using. I've also seen them fold up a yoga mat a couple times

I got this one for the wifey. She seems pleased with it. Had it now for 6 months.

This is one of the reason why hip thrusts seem like a dumb exercise. The leverage is so favorable that you need to use a lot of weight, so much that it becomes impractical or even unsafe.

Full disclosure, I’ve never tried them for max weight, so maybe I’m way off base here and they are an important exercise. But the cynic in me thinks they’re so popular because even someone who can’t squat a lot can pile the weight on and have an impressive looking lift. No disrespect intended towards the fiancée of the op

I totally get u on this never thought of that but it could turn into a ego lift. I wouldn't doubt it isn't on par with "how much do you bench"

Dude this is what 10 years of old school squats, leg presses and lunges look like. This girl never did one hip thrust. More new age nonsense stupid kids are doing.

Sorry that I’m not answering your question, but if you can find a gym with the nautilus brand hip thrust machine it is AWESOME.

It has It's uses. It's a good exercise to get the glutes warmed up and firing before squats/RDLs etc for women that are trying to prioritize glutes over quads/hamstrings (which is most women).

I have a stability pad for some propioception training. It also doubles well as a barrier from hurting you during hip thrust.
