How do you cook your potatoes

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Louisian...75035&wl11=online&wl12=10535392&wl13=&veh=sem

Add 8 oz of this to a 12-16 quart pot , add in 5 pound small red potatoes , a large cut up purple onion , 3 containers mushrooms , 1 pound baby carrots , 1 lemon cut in half and squeezed.

Bring to a boil for 18-20 min , turn off heat and let soak for 30 min.

Drain water and you're done , the potatoes can be eaten as is or mashed up , sprinkled with some cheese or butter as seen fit.

The mushrooms , carrot , onions can all be added to your remaining meals to add a little coonass kick to them

I slice the potatoes the short way, drop the slices in a french fry cutter (makes quick cubes), then douse in olive oil, pop them in the microwave for 3 minutes in covered tupperware. Throw them on a sheet pan, top with salt, pepper, garlic. 12-15 minutes at 450 degrees, then 3 minutes on broil. Takes less than half the time, but they're still crispy.

...I know this post is kinda old, but I figured I'd share.

I like potato very much ,here is the way I made the dish
First , peel the potatoes ,cooked the potatoes with boiled water
Second, put the potatoes into the hot olive oil and stir the potatoes for 4minute
Third , add some garlic ,shallot and salt
Easy way to make the delicious dish

I buy baby food sweet potatoes and put em in my shake. Not a fan of any potatoes

**broken link removed**

I like to pre-cook my potatoes as well as rice , then let it cool off before I cook them to eat as it causes the gycemic index to be lowered from what I have read.

Par-boil in beer then pan fry

oh shit...thats sounds cool...

what kind of fat do you use???do you cook em with anything else???onions???

they like to fry em in lard out here in new mexico...so good...

Braised potatoes + meat + salad (tomatoes, pickles, bell pepper and onion)

This dish is perfect for taking in an hour after intense power loads.

Best potata = baked potatoes!
I always pre-put in the water so that there is no starch in the potatoes))

Potatoes are a very versatile product, so many dishes! It is a pity that I love and eat only baked!:D:D:D

How so? And what about fried potatoes with garlic?:D
Although useful it in the skin or (yea!) baked

Dice them up and cook them in a cast iron skillet with EVOO salt and pepper until tender then add in garlic depending on the amount the last 30 seconds then remove from heat, the garlic will taste bitter if you cook any longer than 30 seconds.

im giving this a try tonight.

old thread btw

From some studies I have seen, if you cook your potatoes and rice> Then let them cool it lowers the glycemic index. So I try to cook ahead and have some on hand.

4 medium potatoes
1 Teaspoon season salt
1 TBS Olive Oil

45 minutes flipping them a few times about half way through

sometimes add garlik

Smashed potatoes are nice.

Take thin skin potatoes like red potatoes and boil them until soft in fairly heavily salted water. I always add some garlic powder, onion powder, and celery salt to the water as well.

Drain the water from the pot, then smash the crap out of them with a potato masher or other blunt object. Then, you get to make some decisions. You can just add chicken broth or you can add butter and milk. Which ever you do, add some more garlic powder, onion powder, and a little sour cream when you're stirring them up.

Quick, easy, and tasty.
