How do you get a start in the fitness industry?

I just thouh i would guve my 2 cents. I'm a PT at a local club in Chicago. I stay very busy (40- 55 hours wk). I will tell you right now that I do not 100K /yr but i do make well over the 30K mark. You can make a good living doing this, but the major draw backs are lack of good benfits.

I would also have to say that sales is a big part of it. You may not want to hear that but, that's the way it is in line of work. Now, on the other hand sales may take many forms (word of mouth, referals, and of course just plain sit them down and hard/soft sell them).

Thats life. You sell your self all the time. example at the bar you dress up to impress people and hopfully hook up with them. Right?

Is doing personal/team training the only way to go in the fitness industry? Are there any chances of getting a job in supplement companies? Anybody here working for one?
